Topic 5.0.4 Warrior challenge, Solo Kael'thas in TK
I'm worried they may nerf second wind in PVE, but it's amazing for soloing now. The general in BT was not able to DPS me faster than I could heal with second wind, so in effect I was invincible at 35% health.
What space marine gear?!
For those asking for strategy:
Phase 1, Kill Thaladred the Darkener, Lord Sanguinar and Master Engineer Telonicus behind Kael. Kite Grand Astromancer Capernian as far away from the other 3 as you can.
Phase 2, Bladestorm the weapons immediately, the CD will be up for phase 3, bandage.
Phase 3, Put your back to a wall and pop Die By the Sword so Thaladred can't rend you. C. Smash Thaladred and and get as much damage as you can on him, and Bladestorm again before Capernian gets too close so she can't CC you with Conflagration.
Kill the councilors in this order: Thaladred->Telonicus->Sanguinar->Capernian. Reasoning behind order: Rend can kill you if it stacks too high, Telonicus can reapply toy freeze debuff, you don't want to deal with that in phase 4, Sanguinar does no damage, Capernian takes the longest to kill due to Arcane Explosion & Conflagration.
Phase 4, try not to enter this phase with Remote Toy or Arcane Explosion debuffs. DPS Kael normally, you can safely interrupt 2 fireballs, they shouldn't do that much damage to you but at the same time you don't want to eat 3 in a row, due to the longer CD on pummel you don't want to interupt a 3rd because pyroblast might be coming. After Kael casts Arcane Disruption the first time(the long 10 second disorient), pop reck and burrrrrrrn, if your Warrior sense tingles or you're close to 50%, feel free to pop Bladestorm again, if you're lucky he'll cast Arcane Disruption again while you're Bladestorming, if you see phoenix that's a red flag pyroblast is soon.
Phase 5, Easiest phase, no more pyroblast, no phoenix pet, play smart, be patient, and kill him.

T5 maybe, that's the most Space Mariney (well, Chaos SM) gear in the game.
I won't settle, however, until I can look like a Dark Angel.
DOESN'T MATTER IF THEY WEAR ROBES, STILL THE FIRST AND FINEST
Man that really makes me wish they hadn't made Dark Millennium a single player game with online elements. :(
On the Corrupted Ashbringer, I never saw it on the BM AH or heard of anyone seeing it on the BM AH, the entire beta. I could have missed it, but I'm pretty sure the only Naxx gear is the OG T3.
HEY NOW. LISTEN.
I CAN'T HELP IT IF WE'RE BETTER THAN YOU. NO NEED TO GET JELLY, SPACE PUP.
It's odd, though, that since people have called me a Viking based on how I look that I wouldn't side with the, well, Space Vikings but rather the Unforgiven.

Hell of a challenge. Here's what I did:
I did it as Prot spec, with full Prot gear on. Nothing fancy. 388 iLevel with 378 Weapon and Shield. Talent choices are in the armory, but really didn't make much of a difference.
Phase 1 is easy as pie, but really sets up Phase 3, which sets up Phase 4.
Start the encounter, then turn around and run to the back of the room. Go all the way into the corner and kill Thaladred there.
Go to the opposite corner of the room to kill Sanguinar, just to the left of where Kael stands, behind the pillar.
Run all the way back to where you killed Thaladred to kill Capernicus.
And then kill Telonicus where you killed Sanguiner.
Recap: Thaladred and Capernicus as far away as you can, Sanguiner and Telonicus die on top of each other behind the pillar near Kael.
Stand on top of Telonicus/Sanguiner's corpses.
AoE down the weapons
Pick up the Staff.
Make a hotkey for the staff. If you hit your hotkey twice, you'll (a) equip the Staff, then (b) 'use' it, giving yourself a buff that will protect you from Telonicus' stun and Capernicus' Conflag.
Stay on top of the corpses for the respawn.
Go get a beer.
Sanguinar and Telonicus will respawn on top of each other. Unload on them.
Pour as much DPS into them as you can until you get Telonicus' Stun Debuff.
Use your hotkey to equip the Staff and use it.
I picked these two to stand next to because (a) you want Telonicus to die first so you don't have his debuff going into Phase 4 and (b) Sanguinar just melees.
The only attacks I really could use with the Staff were Revenge, Thunder Clap, Shockwave, and Heroic Strike. Since you cannot use Shield Block or Shield Barrier with the Staff, all your Rage pours into DPS (Heroic Strike).
Hit Revenge everytime it pops (thank you, Sanguinar), along with the few other skills you can hit.
Odds are Thaladred will get to you before you kill the other two. No biggie. Once you have 3 stacks of his Rend, you do need to Heroic Leap away and let them drop.
Now, at this point, I had both Sanguinar and Telonicus below half, and I began to focus on Capernicus. I focused on her at this point because (a) Deep Wounds will tick down everyone else and (b) she's !@#$ing frustrating with her knockback/slow. Keep charging back into her, but save Heroic Leap for when you need to get away from Thaladred. Remember, her knockback slows you, so you may not be able to outrun Thaladred on foot when you need to drop your stacks.
You will get to a point when she's knocked you back so many times that Charge is on cooldown. Slap the guys with whatever DPS you can as you (slowly) run back towards her. Even with your focus being on her, you'll put more damage into them and they will die before she does.
Kael usually popped for me when all the guys were dead and Capernicus was sub-20%. Finish Capernicus in a hurry and Charge into Kael's face.
Kael's council is dead. Put your Sword and Board back on and congratulate yourself. You're home free.
Kael casts Fireballs and Pyroblasts. I saved my Disrupting Shout for Pyro and used my Pummel to interrupt any Fireballs I could. If you don't have Disrupting Shout, save your Pummel for Pyro. My experience was that neither Spell Reflect nor Mass Reflect could reflect his Fireball. Anyone confirm?
He also casts Flamestrike. That killed me once because I didn't respect it. Stay away from it.
He summons Phoenixes. Keep your focus on Kael, but kill the Phoenixes with revenge, Thunder Clap, and Shockwave AoE dmg. Do the same with the Eggs.
When he casts Pyroblast, he'll put up a mana shield. You'll have to burn it down before you can interrupt. I was always able to interrupt the second Pyro (if you interrupt him, he won't cast a third). It's possible to eat all three Pyros with Shield Barrier, but ... %^-* that. They really hurt and you may not have the opportunity due to ...
Arcane Dispersion (not sure about that name). It's basically just a Conflag that lasts 8 seconds. If your spidey-senses tell you Arcane Conflag is coming soon, spam your Staff hotkey to get your invulnerability buff up. Once you see/hear him cast it, go back to Sword and Board.
Recap: Shield Barrier at 60 Rage, interrupt Pyroblast when you burn down his Mana Shield, kill Phoenixes/Eggs with AoE dmg, stay out of Flamestrikes.
Phase 5 is Phase 4, with patience involved.
When he knocks you in the air (Gravity Lapse) have Heroic Leap ready. You don't always 'float' and you'll want to be ready so you don't die from fall damage (it's a horrible feeling).
You'll get a 30 second flying buff. Stay away from him and hover just off the ground. Soon as the buff ends, Charge in, burn down the !@#$er as much as you can. AoE Phoenixes, respect his Flamestrikes, see how far you can get your shield up his %^-.
I did not get Pyroblasted in Phase 5.
Phase 5 really is impossible to fail at, if you just wait out the 30 second Gravity Lapse buff.
Kael has no enrage.
Hope you guys have better luck than I did with the mount. Feel free to ask any questions. I'll check back here over the next couple of days.
(((You CAN solo him. I assume I died about 12 times figuring it all out. I'm sure I'll never die to him again. Good luck!)))

Don't think Spell Reflect works on Pyroblast, we could use the Legendary Bulwark in the encounter to half the damage of the first one so the raid could burn through the shield and interupt.
Soloing old raids really makes me want to try the proving grounds the devs say they want to put into MOP after launch. Solo raids are great fun without having to worry about other people in you group avoiding AOE and interrupting.
They need more lore heavy solo encounters like this, it would be a great vehicle for story telling.
I completely agree. This challenge was fantastic fun -- trying to learn where to place the council in Phase 1, when to use what weapon, etc ... it was all great.
Went back in afterwards on my Resto Druid while the wife brought her Mage. It was high stress and not fun at all. After getting MC'd, killing her, and hard-reseting the encounter -- three times in a row -- she was frustrated and finished.
And here I am wishing I could do this daily.
