I was just wondering why all the Hardened Obsidium (tanking) gear requires level 80, but the Resteel (DPS) gear all vary from 80-83. Is there a reason for this? I wanted to get a full set of started gear crafted for each spec before I started any dungeons and questing.

My understand is they want the tanks to have new gear right away to make tanking the new instances a little easier.

This was always my assumption as well. No tanks makes the dps whiny.
