Hey folks, I'm working on a personal project, and for various reasons it requires me having a database of ALL quests, since as far as I can tell I can't query the API for the quests I need (example, need a list of all quests in Nagrand, etc). I realize I can just brute force this and scrape the API for 10 or so days until I have all the quests I need, assuming I can get 3000 a day (and assuming I don't get banned or something). I'm looking for a more elegant approach.
I've already gotten a dump of all 29k quests there currently are, my question is: Is there a more elegant way to get all the quests for future updates? I believe there must be some way to get them from MPQ files, and I assume that's how sites like Wowhead and Mmo-Champion get them.
P.S., loving the API! Great work, Blizzard.
I figured as much, I was just hoping there'd be some other source to make it easier. Oh well, I don't have a problem with querying one by one, I was just concerned about being throttled 10 days in a row. I do however have the 29k like I mentioned earlier, so it shouldn't be an issue grabbing the new quests with each patch.
