Its sad that Blizz isn't willing to make any kind of variation... The Horde and the Alliance are essentially doing the same thing, with different results. Was it really such a pain to do something different for each factions? |
The book. Any time us players are involved, it's usually indirectly, and we just offer "aid" to the hero for vanquishing the villian. what do you expect, we're adventurers, we're just the random hired guns that faction leaders send off because they don't have to divert their men against bosses. You thought it would be like your character would have some major lore role in a book? We're unsung, we're the kind who go into the shadows in the end. We're not going to be reconinzed much by history |

Honestly, the best way to comprehend what happened in the scenario is to play both sides, Horde first since that was the evening before the bomb fell, then Alliance since that deals with the fallout after the bomb hit.
I'll say this one more time, even though I said it in another thread, the scenario by itself is not bad, it's fun and a cool new game mechanic. BUT... the execution of this being the prelaunch for MoP is not good. If you have not read ToW, no motivation for any of this exists. That's really the only thing that irks me right now is this overwhelming feeling of a letdown. Not a failure, not the game is ruined, just that this is a disappointment and the profound hope Blizz does better next time. |
What's worse about the Horde side is all the stuff you do is irrelevant other than rescuing the spy. The first four steps might as well be "tool around Theramore while the zeppelin moves into position" because everything you do in them is irrelevant in the wake of the mana bomb anyway We do kill the griffins as well, which supposedly enabled the Zeppelin to fly overhead to drop the bomb.... |

Mention was made of that in the book, that they took out the air support so the zeppelin could get through unimpeded... Frankly, with all the references to the Horde scenario, I'm increasingly convinced the original Alliance scenario was intended to take place during the battle as well, and end with Rhonin evacuating you. |
