HTC One S vs One X

So I have decided to get a new phone and cannot decide between a One S and a One X.

I have yet to actually hold a One S but the fact that it is a smaller phone actually appeals to me (I am weird, I know). The price difference at the store I would be getting it from is so small as to not matter.

Atm I feel that One S would probably be a better phone to get for me for right now, but with the next version of android being optimised for quad cores etc and NFC technology coming to NZ one day, it may be a better choice to get a One X.

Anyone has either or both phones and has a word of wisdom? Halp.

Which one is going to be practically better?
Do they come on the same plan? If not, which one measures up with the amount of credit that you would use?

If it's the megapixels on the camera, whats the difference? And where do you upload your photos to? If it's something like Facebook, then it will be shrunk to a resolution we set our computers on in 1999, making even the lower megapixel camera irrelevant.

Internet surfing? All that could be necessary to use a phone for in internet access is to access your bank account, and possibly your Facebook. You would have to be away from the house often to even justify such usage. This is assuming you own a computer with viable internet, which obviously you do.

As long as you realise that your phone is going to define you as much as what brand of bodywash you use.

If you want quality go for Galaxy S3, if you want simplicity/flexibility go Iphone 5. If you want looks go the White One X.

Phones are phones, I really see no reason why people kick up such a fuss over the best models. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2, it makes calls and stuff, pretty rad. I've never been in the habit of dropping phones or losing them though, so I only replace mine when they finally die after many years.

The only foreseeable reason one could have to want or need the new iPhone would be if you were with Telstra and had a lot of money to burn on the LTE network. Tested my brothers new phone against our home ADSL2+ network, results were pretty interesting. http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/132497_10151199783850376_1012960270_o.jpg

Edit: I just noticed you said you're in NZ, aren't they years behind most the world with phones for some reason? Which makes most of the replies here pretty off-topic :< I remember the last time I went to NZ and seeing them advertising the fancy new MMS network, years after it was released in Australia.

Yeppp, which makes me think that worrying about the fact that for a few bucks extra I can have a phone with NFC technology that will not be available in New Zealand until the next century is pretty silly.

Think I will go with a black One S just cause I like the size more and all I really use my phone for is e-mails and reading the news, or stick with my trusty nexus one. Farrrk cant decide.

Oh and NZ is completely backwater in terms of getting subsidised phones when jumping on a plan. It is only ever worth it if you are a heavy/business user spending over $100 a month. So you basically pay either the retail price which is ridiculous or buy parallel import, which is better but then comes with the hassle of warranty being serviced outside of NZ.

I suggest something like this, Behold!

This little gem doesn't break when you let it slip through your greasy fingers, but in fact causes slight tremors within your local area.

The reception is a little off compared to some updated phones but it's such a simple loss, you'll forget you're missing out on anything!
I mean, Come on - Look at the unique colours!

Ever placed your phone on a table, surrounded by other phones? Tired of having to press a button on each phone to see which wallpaper is yours?

This is the phone for you.
Choose one of the lovely bright colours from the fantastic range in which it comes with, and it will stand out on that table like a ginger kid at the MCG.

The phone for you.
