In a Rock Paper Scissors lizard Spock sort of way- this is how I remember what is strong against something else...
Humanoids- die and become Undead
Undead are under ground and eaten by bugs and worms
Critters then feed the Beasts of the forrest
Beasts are frightend by the Machines
Machines are rusted from exposure to the elements
Elementals (mostly Fire) are extinguished by Water
Aquadic pets are lorded over by the Sky Pets
If you are flying you are going to get shot down by Magic Missles
Magic comes from and is OF the Dragons of legend
Most Dragons of Legend are killed by Humanoids
Those Humanoids eventually die and become Undead
Did I leave any out?
Sweet, I use a similar pneumonic, but never completed the chain; so will happily steal the missing links from you.
Elemental is basically fire (icon, ect) so melt mechanics and extinguished by aquatics.
The other ones I use differently are:
For mechanics > beast: tools (ie mech) let humans dominated the beast world.
Magic > Flying: Magic makes flying obsolete
Anyone use one for weak against? So far I got his (and yes, some could use work):
Beast < Flying: Beast can't catch the sky
Flying < Dragons: Dragons are the true masters of the sky
Dragons < Undead : I think of the scourge corrupting the dragonshire
Undead < Aquatic: Water washes all things away (I guess I equate undead with poison/toxin/uncleanliness)
Aquatic < Magic: no idea
Magic < Mechanical: Mech is the antithesis of magic
Mechanical < Elemental: same as Elemental strong to Mech pneumonic
Elemental < Critter: Critters/nature thrives under the elements
Critter < Humanoid: Critters are just a nuisance to people
Humanoid < Beast: I use the toolmaking pneumonic (humans needed tools to tame beasts)
