Am I the only one who moves on instantly?

I was wondering if I am the only person who moves on to a new zone instantly after dinging.

I am running around in kun-lai summit and I see a ton of level 88 running around, and its odd to me because I know I would already be in the next zone if I had dinged.

I am legitimately interested to see how many people fully exhaust the zones and do every single quest there until it is complete.

It depends. If its a new zone to me, I try to stick it out and experience the whole thing. If I've already played it on another toon I usually move on. The 2nd toon is usually levelling for a utility reason like the next batch of recipies, so the sooner it levels the better. I'm a believer in playing the whole game though. You paid for the whole thing, why cheat yourself out of parts of it.

I'm sure others do as well, but I tend to want to "finish" a zone before moving on. At least, that's the way of it the first time through. After that, I may be more flexible with how I go through.

If I have never done the zone before I am likely to stick around and explore it thoroughly.

If I have already done the zone I would be eager to move on.

I moved on immediately after dinging and ran out of quests in Townlong* before leveling so I can understand why people don't do it.

Usually when I'm on my alts I stick with a zone til I get the achievement though.

I try to finish out the capstone quest, because that usually gives a blue reward that makes the next zone easier.

I like to wrap up an entire zone. I feel... incomplete when I just walk up and move on after I ding...

I was going to just stop questing as soon as I hit 90 in the Dread Wastes, ironically the quest that pushed me to 90, also gave me the achievement :D

I was going for Loremaster anyway, but in general I try to do every quest in a given zone the first time through. I think it's 50% wanting to see everything the devs have thought up, 45% worrying about some breadcrumb quest I don't want to have to go back and look for later, and 5% obsessive completionism disorder.

As I begin playing through on alts, you'd better believe they're heading to the next zone the instant they ding.

I was a few bubbles from 88 by the time I was finally allowed to leave Jade Forest. I have to complete everything before I go, and I queue for dungeons while I quest.

There's really no point in moving on when you don't need to, most of the quests in Mists reward roughly the same Xp for a level range rather than individual levels, so you're not really missing out on anything. Chances are you'll be sent back to the previous zone from a linked quest anyway.

On my first time through, I tend to finish every zone. I'm 89 and just finished up Kun Lai. On alts, depending on how bad the zone is *cough* Uldum *cough* I'll zip to the next zone once I'm level-able.

I don't my first time through. After that I usually pick and choose.

If I'm not worried about time spent, I finish the zone. Otherwise I move on soon as I can.

I only need Pandaria for Loremaster so I did all of them before I moved on.

My monk on the other hand is in Darkshore and I'm moving through the classic zones as fast as I can because I've done them so many times.

I do each and every quest in a zone before moving on. I can't stand not finishing the questline xD

Especially in Pandaria, I've got to complete every quest in a zone before moving on.

I used to be like that.

After taking a long break from wow, I have decided to try and enjoy the game. Rather than race to end game and start the cycle of upgrading gear.

when I'm trying to power level, I do.

but before I do, I'll usually look at the rewards for any quests in my logs (or check wowhead if it's a quest chain) to see if it'll reward me with a blue. if it does, I'll finish it out for the gear upgrade.

My plans for this expansion are to complete every zone with my druid (main quester) then once max level complete every quest I can find.

For the rest of my guys, its ding move on to the fastest level route I can find. Thats why in Cata I saw some stories only once especially Hyjal summit, once I got to the point of escorting a certain ancient turtle that was about as far as I got cause I wanted to get to Uldum to get shoulder enchants. Then when Firelands came out - that was as far as I got full stop.
