Could Immolate Tics proc Backlash?
However its great for dungeons between its aoe and tab target shadowburn of low HP adds it works fine there. Also by every measure destro is not going to scale as well as affliction so this isn't just a ilvl 450-463'ish thing.
PVP destro is able to burst but not the same way a spriest or mage can burst. We don't have the tools to self peel and we still cast waaaaay more than anyone else. The metric of "if they ignore you" is pretty pointless. Only saving grace is that CB+CC spells are on shadow while the rest of the nukes are on fire so lockouts/interupts are not as bad. That said, most CC now has turned into hard cc that doesn't break on damage so silence/stun or gtfo.
What does destro need? IF conflag is staying at 12 sec cd then backdraft knocking its cast time down 33/66/100 needs to happen. Then we can burst like a mage. (2x to 3x instant pyro) Granted we'd have far more setup but at least if we survived that long its possible. I'd like to see F&B turned into a 10 sec buff vs trying to ride the wave of non ember starvation in terms of AoE. First generation demo decimation had the same problem and that fix worked very well for it. Destro needs a bit more punch so probably just a nudge to incinerate's coef would do the trick if we aren't changing spell CD's (ie conflag's). I'd also like to see fel flame a bit cheaper but that is QoL. A reactive proc would be nice just to make it less boring....T11 4pc had exactly that...a rng proc on immolate ticks for free higher damage fel flames. The coding is there, why not do it?
IF you shortened conflag's cd to 8 sec it would match infernoblast and also allow for nearly full backdraft uptime on incinerates. This makes mana less of a minigame and lets destro focus more on crit which right now it doesn't so much.
