I'm playing MoP and enjoying every moment of it. But one thing that is a bit of a nuisance is that all the voice and vocal tracks are on the same 'volume' bar as sound effects like my sword swings and spell effects.
So to listen to what the NPCs have to say I have to turn up "sound" volume, but when I got into battle then I get blasted by overly loud sound effects.
I like the music of MoP, I like the voice acting, and I do like the sound effects, but I'd just like to keep sword swings and spell effects on a lower volume setting. But this means, then I can't hear the vocal dialogue.
Are there any mods that can accomplish this? Or, as I assume, would Blizz have to change the UI to accommodate this?
Srsly? SRSLY? HOW DO I DO THAT? OMFG I NEED TO KNOW. I HATE, HATE, REALLY HATE COMBAT SOUNDS. OMG HOW DO I MUTE COMBAT SOUNDS?
Also is it possible to mute mounts sounds too?
Yes you can change or mute any sound in game. Blizz gives you ability to. Basically you just find out what the original file name for the sound is, you put in an empty sound file or a replacement sound file of your choice, name it the same thing and put it in WoW/Data/Sounds (and whatever other subfolders the sound has normally in the mpq).
Since this is a common procedure, people already did all this footwork for you so just download and follow instructions:
This pack has a variety of other annoying sounds:
but if you want individual mounts, you can usually find those too, gotta specify which ones though.
