Guild/Character Activity Feed / RSS ?

Hi,

Has anyone developed or know of a site with an activity feed per character and/or guilds?

Things like achievements / levels gained etc over time.

Assuming not, I am having a go via javascript/coffeescript - but still early days :)

Thanks,
Chris

Hi,

Just an update on where I am at this...

Code is coffeescript, on github here:
https://github.com/kimptoc/wowactivityfeed

I have beta version running here:
http://wafbeta.kimptoc.net/feed/all.rss (activity of everyone registered)
http://wafbeta.kimptoc.net/feed/guild/eu/Darkspear/Mean%20Girls.rss (guild activity)
http://wafbeta.kimptoc.net/feed/member/us/Earthen%20Ring/Randydeluxe.rss (member activity)

Should work with any character/guild - just change the above bits of the url. Note on first call you'll get nothing, but it will then be querying the armory for details - come back in 5 mins for your feed. Its then monitored going forward.
Things like spaces, special characters and upper/lower case letters could confuse it - that is, its still a beta :)

Now I am working on making the feed entries better formatted, better links to armory etc.

Enjoy,
Chris
@kimptoc

EDITED: changed url, as ran out of space on other site :(

so how do you register? There is nothing on the website you shown to register only to look at other guilds or members.

There is no need "register" - I am working on a search page that will make it more "friendly" to find guilds/characters and which will dynamically query the armory (or a message for the user to try again later)

For now, just try amend this url for your guild/character:

http://wafbeta.kimptoc.net/feed/guild/[region]/[realm]/[name].rss (guild activity)
http://wafbeta.kimptoc.net/feed/member/[region]/[realm]/[name].rss (member activity)

The first time you try it, it will do an armory lookup, so try reloading the page in a few minutes and if found, you should see the latest activity.

Thanks,
Chris

Please have a go and let me know what you think.

Thanks

Very nice! I recognize the Express error page and favicon. :)

I thought I'd post this feedback: if you search this character (Cyaga on Ner'zhul US), you'll notice that the link that shows up for him is:

http://wafbeta.kimptoc.net//view/member/us/Ner

Those darn apostrophes in realm names!

Good luck with the project, keep up the great work!

Many Thanks for the feedback - will look into that.

Must also work out how to get a nicer error page out of express (but thats a lower priority ;) )

Cheers,
Chris

Working on localizations for the site - anyone interested in helping?

The text that needs translating is in these files:

https://github.com/kimptoc/wowactivityfeed/tree/master/locales

Oh and the live site is here: http://wowactivity.kimptoc.net/

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks :)

I am using webtranslateit for the translations - French is largely done.

So, would love help on the other translations - German, Spanish, Portuguese, ... :)

Hey,

I am curious, are you able to control how much history it shows?

As in, the when you look at the activity feed within the armory, you can see the past 50 items.

are you able to for instance, show the last 200?
