So I find the tank only healing spheres created by Gift of the Ox to be a bit wonky. I dont mind that I have to actively try to get them while tanking, but the having to dance side to side seems a bit off. Especially when as a tank, placement is such an important concept for tanks. Pulling a boss to the correct location, and then not moving, or having to continually move around, means alot of orbs get left unused.
Im suggesting adding in an active ability, that gathers all orbs in a small radius around you. This could be balanced in two ways. Firstly having an appropriate cost and also using a Global Cooldown, so that it cant just be macro'd into other abilities and used all the time. Secondly, by having it pick up ALL the orbs in the radius, even if it would cause overhealing. You would then have the choice between dancing for orbs as you need smaller heals to help top you off, or another Oh Crap button when a big spike comes and you have alot of orbs down that need to be picked up quickly.
Current spreadsheets show how high Expertise is sitting for Monk Tanks, all the way to the hard cap if you are managing GoTO orbs correctly. I think this would make managing more fun and likely. Ideas and or comments?
I'd like some sort either auditory or stronger visual indicator that orbs were picked up.
Doable in an addon. All it needs to do is hijack "You get healing from Gift of the Ox" and play a soundfile.
Someone might make it eventually. Hell you can probably set up a power auras for it...
