uldum DOA ?
|
I have been watching the progression of PvE content on this server.
It saddens me deeply. Repeat Offender and Nightfall are the only 2 guilds on this WHOLE server doing 25 man vaults ?!?!?! There are a quarter century worth of guilds doing 10 mans, only a dozen of which got past the first boss. Now I have been gone for quite some time my question is: Is this server actually dead or are the competitive players too diluted in guilds to not have any raid progression? I am on my way back after the GM's hash out a couple of issues with my account and I was hoping to stay home. I have played on Uldum and called it my home since Jan of 07. http://www.warcraftrealms.com/charsheet/50173604 Makes me a sad panda to think I may have to move. :( |
You think you can do a returning player a favor? Contact Kayhless in game and tell him I am looking for him. Point him this way ? |

There's a lot of dilution but fact of the matter is that there isn't much incentive to focus on 25 mans since loot is the same. 10s are a lot less hassle/coordination than 25. Only reason Nightfall is doing 25's is because they merged with De Votchka otherwise there would be no horde 25 man running. Akatsuki has the people for it but run 3 10s instead.
Another factor to think about is the forced daily grind tied to VP/ gear which is turning off a large majority of the player base. Uldum had a large 10 man representation in Cata which is probably 1/3 what it was because of the grind. Personally I'm done with dailys. Might take alot longer to eventually start raiding again due to the random loot generator in LFR or world bosses but at least I won't waste my time doing mind numbing dailys |

The main reason why Uldum is considered "DOA" with raiding is because of the dwindling population during WoLTK. Because of that Uldum was branded a new player server with the launch of Cataclysm.
On the bright side, Uldum was getting more populated towards the end of Cata. I hope MoP doesn't make too many people mad, and more people decide to x-fer here. I love this realm, and the people I've met. I've been playing since BC, and I have never played on any other realms. Uldum is basically an all around realm; It has PvP, PvE, and yes I have actually seen a couple RP guilds (although they are few and far in between). |

Yeah this server is nothing compared to what it used to be. You will be doing good to see a RBG or raid pug in trade chat. While other servers like kel thuzad and such have hundreds a day.

It's the curse of delciotto! High-end 25 man raiding (and to a lesser extent 10 man) dies on every server i transfer off of! Go look at all my old servers Rexxar, Uldum and Bonechewer. All these had very healthy 25 man raiding guilds when i was on them and they all died when I transferred off! Also hi to people who remember me.

I can't speak for all the players but Uldum is a very old server. Many of us just don't have the playtime we did in Vanilla.
The switch to 10s Wrath and Cata allowed many people to find groups that raid one or two nights a week for a total of 6 hours, instead of the 6 night per week for 6 hours each night that we did back then. Frosty |

Hey Dlm,
If you're looking a spot, Storm and I are looking for a good dps to complete our team in Union. If you don't mind playing in 10m, I'd be more than happy to have you on the team. We've got a couple of old Union players with us. Malleus doesn't play much, but he's still around from time to time. Anyway, lemme know if you're interested, I'd save you a spot. |
Hey Dlm, maybe when i get back in july broham, check the recruiting post. If you wanna catch up you can create a login and follow me on wowprogress that would work a bit better then forum posts. Have not used battle tags yet...can you send messages through battle tags? |

It's really quite sad, and makes me sad. I see pugs on other servers making more progress than guilds on ours :(
When the bar is set at normal mode elegon, you know the server is in bad shape. |

There are tons of great players still on the realm, they are just spread too thin. And the server won't be attractive for xfers until there is some kind of steady progression. People need to pull together in guilds/groups and actually down stuff to gain some real attention to the server and get some xfers back here. I remember back when, people used to xfer to uldum to raid. ::nostalgia::

Eh, I've pretty much given up on Uldum.
I'll stick around and make monies off of you all (yay belt buckles) and play with my friends and family, but I'll stick to raiding elsewhere :( |

sadly uldum is a dying server. When i came here this server, seemed like it was always busy doing stuff, now you cant even build up a group to raid cept for world bosses.
