Did you vote? I stood in line for an hour and a half in the cold and all I got was a little sticker.

these things are exactly the reasons why I posted in trade earlier, asking if you were able to vote online, when there was a good 5 minutes of politics going on.

if it was only possible with some sort of IP address save or something. but with technology and the internet, there are probably millions of endless ways to reset your known IP address.

Some people really want their sticker! My aunt prevoted and didn't get one so I posted a picture of one on her FB and told her to print it, cut it out, and tape it on her shirt! :P

I don't they are particularly concerned with security.

They didn't ask for my ID, just my Fname, LName and DOB.

LOL! EXACTLY!

It's a "Lesser of Two" Evils situation. I personally don't want to spend the time to go out and vote like Gogobubble did and vote for nothing. Because if I did vote, it wouldn't be towards the media-heavy Obama and Romney. It would go towards one of the other candidates (which the voting ballot for them would probably be destroyed and/or ignored). It's sad but this is how our system is ran these days.

By the media, and power-hungry politicians.

Whoa, who said I voted for nothing? If anything, voting for someone who can't possibly win sounds like a vote for nothing.

Not that I'm disagreeing about the problems with each candidate and the media.

I am not voting for 3 reasons.

1. I am a registered republican but I am not overly enthusiastic about Romney. He is a mediocre representative of our party, at best. I would only vote for him to keep Obama out.

2. I live in NY which is clearly going to vote democrat so why bother?

3. I actually have no idea where my polling location is (we moved since last major election). If the 2 above reasons weren't there I would have went out of my way to find out but since they exist I feel no need.

I think he means by your original post that "perhaps" you felt you voted for nothing.

The sticker and the warm fuzzy feeling that you have the option to participate in our election process should be all anyone needs (so they say).

It was somewhat tongue in cheek. As a R in Maryland, I'm sure I won't be voting for the eventual winner either.

Having said that, if everyone feels this way FOR SURE nothing will change. Also, there are always important questions to vote on besides the presidential. Like in MD whether or not to allow casinos and gay marriage. Questions like this are a lot less party driven and votes do matter.

This presidential election will be won not by the number that prefer one candidate over another, but by the most people who get their butts off of couches and go stand in the cold (and get free stickers!).

Annoys me to see these stupid countrywide polls of % of people called on the phone asking who they prefer. 50% of these people will never leave their houses, not to mention a complete lack of understanding of how the electoral college works....

This

Yes, things won't really change if we just leave things the way they are but I have to say Obama isn't a terrible president or anything. He just isn't THE ONE. Romney isn't either.

As for other issues I am not aware of any in NY state that I care one way or another for. For me, something has to hit home and make me feel passionate for one cause or another otherwise today is just another day in our small world.

No Gogobubble, sorry I guess you misinterpreted but that's my fault. I should have grammar'd that correctly :)

I was referring to myself on "vote for nothing" meaning I wouldn't be voting for those two simply because I would be "voting for nothing". Because they are both evil, and to me, they mean nothing.

I voted, but it was pointless because my guy didn't win - and Michigan is a poor state (aka blue state)

I hope to received my food stamps in the mail in the next 5-7 business days. If you can't beat em - join em! bahahaa

So what makes for a proper president?

Are you waiting around for some overwhelming signal from a psychological gesture to gleam hope and sunshine into your existence; or do you have a set of parameters to be met for your hypothetical candidate of choice?

Not trolling, just curious if there is a sense of forethought in a statement like that.
