How about all bosses are adjusted for tanks and heals? Tanks get an increased enrage timer, but the boss deals more damage. Bosses have reduced HP for the heals. Or would that make too much sense?

That tank idea is the worst idea ever. It's bad enough sitting and watching blood dks fight easy stuff for two minutes, doing practically nothing but waiting for enrage to hit. Please don't extend that wait.

And that doesn't even take into account that more damage from the boss=more vengeance=easier to meet timer anyway. I wouldn't complain too hard, as that'd give me nearly a free kill of one of the rank 8 fights, but still... not a change I'd get behind.

If you can figure out how to challenge a healer or a tank, feel free to share your idea.

I can't find a way to do something hard for a healer:
Heal a NPC while both of you dodge !@#$ on the ground (Hhow the NPC dodges? Everything, chance or nothing?).
Survive until enrage with increased damage (How much the damage is increased? How many time you need to survive?)

Tanks are even worse, everything you can bring up needs to match one word:

Blood DK (superior in lots of ways from other tanks)

If you watch burst classes (Moonkins, BM Hunters, Demo Locks, Ret Paladins) you will see how pathetic are the first fights for some classes, while on rank 8 the surviving requirements (dodge things) increase a lot.

Just leave this feature alone, most people already hate "I can't die" classes, let them change spec or leave the guild.

Why not just allow healers kill something in a reasonable amount of time, like they allow tanks? I can't be the only one that remembers a time when prot took forever to quest with.

As I stated in my post, I am terrible at dps. An utter embarrassment, really, but that's why I've chosen to be a healer since I started playing this game.

So Blizzard has to cater to you because of your inability to learn a simplistic role? DPS is not hard. Instead of making excuses for yourself why don't you try learning another aspect of your class. It's really not hard. People write guides, and make addons to help people. You're always going to suck at being a DPS If all you do when you find an aspect of the game where you have to DPS you say "Oh, I can't do that because I can't DPS." and walk away.

This is the brawler's guild. Fight, and beat your opponent. Not heal it to death.

If you want it bad enough, learn to play another spec. I'm terrible at dps as well and have always played healing roles, but in order to solo content that I want to I was "forced" to learn to play Feral - and I use the word "play" very loosely as well. I almost failed to beat tanks last night on Protectors when I was told to swap after we had too many healers for the night.

i just read the OP, and I have yet to try the brawler's guild.

If the OP is true, then i'm dissapointed as well. I'm a healer.

I know, everyone is saying go dps.... well what about healers that don't have a dps spec?
This is not the case for me, but what if a priest was disc/holy... what are they to do?

The easy solution is Remove the enrage timer, and stop making a queue for it.

I'll still try it out, but the higher end fights might be out of my reach.

How many of you will actually hang out and "watch" another fight? I can see my self doing it once or twice, but it's going to get boring really quick i think.

blizzard hasn't had a good idea like this since they removed the number of boss kills from the LFR popup screen........ Zing! :)

Remove the enrage timer,

And as a result, remove all challenge from a large number of fights. Berserk timers may not be the most inspired way to make a fight difficult, but they do exist for a reason.

but what if a priest was disc/holy... what are they to do?

Do the same thing I did when I hit a wall at rank 5: Switch from Guardian/Resto to Guardian/Feral. The only people who might have a legitimate complaint there are hpallys and mistweavers, the other healers all share gear with their DPS specs. In fact, they're better off than plate tanks in that regard.

It's balanced for DPSers because 11/11 classes have a DPS spec. Only 5/11 have a tank spec and 5/11 have a healing spec, picking one of the 3 roles to balance around is not a hard choice in that respect.

How many of you will actually hang out and "watch" another fight? I can see my self doing it once or twice, but it's going to get boring really quick i think.

In the day? not at all. When it's at really odd hours and there's 5 people queueing, 3 in rank 8, 1 in rank 7, and that one guy everyone makes fun of dying at rank 2, it's pretty fun even just to watch.

Then Blizzard could implement a separate addition, with all the same achievements and rewards, named the Healer's Guild or anything of that nature if it is so important than only dps are called Brawlers.

I certainly do have skills to prove, just because I am not dps does not mean I should be left out of all the fun and competition.

Because this game is made for DPS.

It's why other games are staying away from the holy trinity of MMO's, because it's a terrible system that pigeonholes people into boring, tedious and unrewarding roles that the developers possibly can't cater to in any way outside of dungeons.

Guys, Blizzard should reduce the damage done in raids because no one in my guild is good at healing so we should just bring all dps and no one can tank either, so bring 10 dps and we should do that and have a chance of success.

Oh wait, that doesn't fly?

What do you MEAN that you have to spec appropriate to the content you wish to beat?!

I was under the impression that Brawler's Guild would allow players to compete solo in whatever their spec happened to be, a test of solo PvE prowess. Perhaps I got it confused somehow with a statement regarding the Proving Grounds which may or may not offer that?

It's too bad that there was nothing done with this for those of us who choose to play as dedicated healers and don't enjoy the time spent in our DPS spec. Just another longevity feature that I won't be enjoying. :P

In this expansion, more than any other, I find myself spending more time in my offspec than my main. Consequently, I am spending more time offline than on. That is fine, I am one of a minor subset who feel that way, and I wouldn't expect anything changed on my account.

Times they are a'changin!

This is what is known as a straw man argument. You make an example that easy to knock down . It would be a fair example if this was about skill. But it's not, it's about design. One could be the best healer or tank in the world, but the Brawler's Guild will still be designed against them because it's made for DPS, not healers or tanks.

If that is it's intent, that's fine. Just don't be surprised that a lot of the people playing think it's stupid.

If im not mistaken, your whole account gets invited to the brawler's guild, not the single character you used the invitation on, lvl an alt to 90, gear it up (about 480+ ilvl no less) and go have fun.

If being forced to DPS or have to play an alt to experience the content leaves a bad taste in your mouth, then the other alternative is to not participate on any toon.

It would suck not doing the content, but think of it as something you just don't do, like a PVPer who doesn't PVE or visa versa. But it's just content you don't do. No need to get upset about it.

By not participating, you're adding to a statistic of non-participation in that content. The more non-participation, the less successful content is. This could contribute to changes or perhaps actually thought out implementations in the future.

Though given how MoP has been so far for healers (dailycraft, instance settings where healers aren't welcome, and now the dpsers guild), I have a feeling someone at Bliz has a fetish for healer malcontent.

Yes. I farmed up my invite on a Horde toon because Horde is dead on my server and competition for spawns in minimal, then went in and queued for a brawl on an alliance character.

Modifying the fights for healers and tanks would NOT work.

The issue is healers can stay alive FOREVER essentially, and without an enrage timer they would just have to dodge relatively easy mechanics.

Now, having a situation like your original post would be intriguing, where you have to escort or protect various NPCs against the same bosses your peers are fighting, and as you level up your companions become increasingly stupid to the point they are standing in the near one-shot mechanics and you'd have less than a second to heal them to full.

I think that would be fairly fun to be honest, but it would require a whole new set of bosses and blizzard would need time amongst other things.

Neat idea. Not necessarily REQUIRED, given that brawlers implies fighting, but interesting.
