It is. Wrathion is purposely pitting Alliance heroes against Horde heroes by promising them trinkets and baubles. Chances are that he'll use us in a way we do not like eventually.

I am more inclined to believe that Wrathion is using the war in order to hone us into weapons for the final war against the Burning Legion. Rather than having us come out weaker from this war, like the Legion surely wants, we will come out stronger and more focused than ever.

We will see, though.

He has a strange way of making Azeroth stronger if his tactic is to pit the strongest heroes against each other instead of keeping them all alive.

Maybe he is taking a page out of the Mantid book of making a powerful empire?

Well, in a recent interview, Kosak said that Wrathion's endgame is one of testing the playable factions to see which one should rule the world so as to present a united front against the Legion.

It'd make sense in this case to kill those who are more in favour of the war.

Judging by the new quests, it seems that Wrathion is targeting Varian to lead his united front.

Wrathion is uncorrupted, and he is trying to save the world. Blues have confirmed both of these factors. That doesn't mean he intends to save the Horde or Alliance though. I mean he's clearly making us kill each other off right now, just check your rep gains on Domination Point/Lion's landing mobs.

My guess? His idea of saving the world is wiping out both the Horde and Alliance.

And he might not be too far off.

The final and scariest of Old Gods are the players themselves. All the Old Gods used to do was amass forces to battle each other for endless amusement and chaos.

...and that's exactly what we've been doing for eight years now.

We're mind controlling hapless innocents of Azeroth to go fight things for our amusement as we topple empires. Only when the server plug is pulled will citizens of this poor planet know freedom from our constant interference. They have to keep their entire civilizations going on just the brief amount of freedom they get every Tuesday mornings and early afternoons, the rest of the time they belong to us. We wont let them stay dead, or sometimes we unmake them from existence, whatever our whims demand.
