Shadow and Haste 5.1

Right now, my issue is this;

I can't reach the haste BP of 8085 with my gear right now without going under the hit cap. So is haste still the most valuable secondary stat, even though I can't reach the extra ticks, or should I go with mastery until my gear is good enough to hit 8085 haste?

I chose FDCL and DI for talents (most fights) so would that affect my choice?

^ Should read.

Haste, Haste, Haste until 8085 then Crit stacking. Remember to go back to gemming Brilliant / Reckless / Purified as you can.

- Drop the River's Heart for a Purified.
- Trade Crit Tinker's Gear for Hit.
- Get Jade Spirit for your Weapon: it's a nice upgrade and your weapon is worth spending it.
- Are you letting Reforge Lite do the work for you?

Only leaving the River's Heart so its a little easier to go to OS and to help me reach hit.

I really should get started doing dailies :/

Don't think you should be making mastery a priority at all. As far as I know, it's 15% spell hit > 8085 haste > crit > haste > mastery (as far as secondary stats).

i can't imagine ever trying to go under hitcap just because of how !@#$ty it is to miss mindblasts and the first SW:D (which then cockblocks you from the cooldown reset).

if you can't hit 8085 haste, just go for as much intellect as you can (brilliant for red, reckless for yellow, purified for blue slots). that said, you should really get a darkmoon trinket if you plan on doing dps. it's a massive dps increase compared to just about anything else.

also find someone to cap arena points with every week. the pants, rings, and gloves available through there are quite good, and can be upgraded to a 491 ilvl. iirc, the pants and gloves with haste on them are from the 'healer set', but who gives a %^-*.

also, regarding talents, you should really be changing them almost every fight. pure single target and stone guards = DI fights. anything else, twist of fate is a substantial dps boost, because you can keep it up for a very long time by killing adds. also, get used to having enemy health bars up so you can snipe adds with SW:D for extra orbs/twist of fate.

I'm not under. Always make sure I'm not.

Elegon so far is the only fight I've used ToF on as far as raiding goes (haven't downed him yet) but I plan on it for WotE as well. I don't go into the Spirit Realm on Gara'jal so it stays as DI then too.

ToF is a DPS boost on the last 4 bosses in that instance.

Perhaps you have...special circumstances for why a Shadow Priest isn't going down into the spirit realm on Gara'jal, but I can't see why that's anything but a mistake unless your raid is something like 6 Shadow Priest DPS.

Don't know why people are telling you to gem straight for the haste breakpoint. Only if you are within 700 haste of the breakpoint do you gem haste over int.

That's not too far off. Generally you can only sacrifice ~420 Int to reach the Haste cap.

Also please, please, please, PLEASE take the time to read the first post of this:

It's so unbelievably helpful to understand what the Haste break point really means to us and our DPS.

Thanks everyone for the help and hints. I more or less just used AskMrRobot and checked all the weights and everything (I know people have a dislike for that site, I used to as well until I learned how to use it) and DPS has shot up.

My guild just sends a healer and a frost DK in every time (lock on backup) and we one shot it every week with no troubles

My statement still stands.

When/If you ever get to the heroic version of the fight, you'll be happy to have the skill necessary to kill this boss. The best way to learn this skill is in the normal mode.

Either way it's not my decision. Good luck on Elegon.

They're actually suggesting haste is still better than the other secondary stats even post 8085 breakpoint.

Whether that's right or not I have no idea.
