PS: I sent in a ticket as soon as I found out it was fake and changed my password but i'm very worried.

If you provided your security answer on a bogus site, Silentmeta, then they have some of the necessary information to access the account.

Changing your password is certainly recommended, but you may also want to change the email address associated with the account.

As some of the others recommended, you may want to look into picking up an Authenticator. We have a physical and a mobile version.

If you do have a compatible smartphone I'd recommend looking into the Battle.net SMS Protect feature, that will help you manage your accounts security options.

And since no one else posted it I'll toss out the link on how to know if it's really a Blizzard employee you're interacting with in-game. https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/game-master-interaction-policy

How many times do people need to be told to NEVER trust ANY whisper or mail asking for ANY account information? You WILL know when Blizzard is trying to contact you in game. You here a special "ping", and a special, separate box will pop-up.

OP, change your secret question and answer, and your password, and for everyone else out there, stop giving out any account info!

This. I'm afraid ignorance can never be completely defeated. But I guess that's life. Live and learn the hard way.

Why aren't authenticators mandatory yet? They've been around for ages and cost so little that it would probably beneficial to Blizzard to give one to every account to save themselves and customers so much headache...

You can't force someone to buy something whether they want to or not. Blizzard isn't the US Government.

Just like the others have stated on here with the policy for interaction with a Blizzard GM: remember, when interacting with a GM, it pops up in a separate window, not your normal chat window, and before the name, it actually has the Blizzard logo in front of their name, not BlizzGM-Name or GM-Name. Look for the authenticity via being a pop-up saying a GM wishes to speak to you, and once you click on that, it brings up the separate chat window, and then look for the Blizzard logo.

The people who think the Worgen thing was serious scare me.

Also any communications with a GM would be logged in the ticket system whether created by the player or the GM. To view these for verification before following their instructions go to the official world of warcraft website and log in, If its legit at the top there will be an indicator for support tickets that require your interaction.

Quite true. Added bonus: if you put in a ticket, and they need to contact you ingame about it, they will stalk you down ... errr ... find you on any character you happen to be playing at the time, even if it's not the one that submitted the ticket. Not related to original topic here but I think it's spiffy!
