50% pvp power.
30% flat reduction + MS = 50%. Approx 70 cc's/stuns/incaps/silences. 2 DPS with a heartbeat can kill you through your cooldowns. PvP this expansion is murder on healers. |

Yes, healers are borderline useless on arenas now...

warrior and a rogue you cant even get a heal off

The only time I feel useful is when dps aren't very good and let me get off heals. Those that are good, I can't do a thing and just die and waste everyones time. Sigh.

I haven't done much pvp healing lately, but then I decided to go into a random on my lvl 56 holy pally, I shouldn't have, pallies have decent survivability in general, no doubt about that, compared to some other healers, but the CC durations are just stupid. I know I've heard quite a few people say that, but I couldn't imagine it being as bad as it actually is.
Reading the PTR patch notes didn't give much hope either:/ |

The healing nerf has really forced me into using my mobility even more than I was before :3 I even reforged and just tweaked how I was healing and have noticed some positive changes.
Some of the CC is just insane, but I'm slowly learning which to trinket and which to not. And which to just /dance until I die ;) |

As a priest healer... I'm really feeling it this patch.
|
|
These are not our golden days, my healer brethren. If I get caught without a full set of cooldowns, I'm easily going to get 1v1'd. Arena has become a game of 'who can get off an instant CC and global an enemy'.
I'm cautiously optimistic for 5.2. A slight reduction in the CC flying around, a bit less burst. It might be a decent season. |

Blizzard clearly wants to take healing classes out of PvP:
- Every expac since TBC has added more and more and more anti-caster mechanics. - They've removed important defensive healer abilities, most notable being the addition of a cooldown to defensive dispels. - Every expac since TBC has added more burst dps and in MoP the instantaneous damage_taken / self_healing_received ratio for healers (Holy priest anyway) is more unfavorable than it has ever been. - Despite acknowledging the problem of high uptime of melee classes on healers, esp. warriors, Blizzard has taken no meaningful steps to improve this situation. - Self-healing for many dps classes has been greatly expanded. Taken together, these observations clearly support the conclusion that Blizzard no longer has any plans to support healing classes in PvP. |

I really think the healing nerf is overboard. My resto shammy is mostly honor although it's upgraded and it's absolutely ridiculous trying to survive anything.
The double nerf to hybrids is overboard. Isn't it seriously worth looking at? |

QFTO What made hybrids worth rolling was their ability not only to dps but to heal too. Priests Shamans Monks Paladins Druids Now you either go 100% dps or 100% healer, but in reality you should just go healer because for example, Mages and Warlocks all have better survivability than any hybrid class, along with better damage, and better CCs. Literally, no point in rolling anything other than a pure dps class right now. |

Idk about you guys but the pvp power nerf has me gemming spirit over pvp power. Kinda sucks...
The ccs and burst are kinda crazy, you just gotta be the aggresive team I guess. |

Wow so many terribad players in this thread.
I am doing arena as MW and doing ok, and my spec is 100% worse then the people posting. The healing nerf isn't that bad. I am still having matches go 10mins at 1800MMR in 3v3, and 20min matchs in 2v2 at 1750 MMR. I don't know WTF you guys are talking about but every single 3s team has a healer. There are zero successul 3 dps teams this season unlike in Cata when healing was balls to the wall OP. Change your gemming, and spell rotation. I had to start using healing sphere, and surging mist for 2v2 and 3v3 to out heal double dps. It's more mana intensive but it's working. I changed my gemming and went full resilience and spirit, and seems to be working fine. If you think you are useless as a healer it's a learn to play issue. You can't run around and face roll, and expect to be immortal anymore. You have to out play your opponent now. No longer does being a healer entitle you to be overpowered just cause. The game is better for it.. |

Healing is kind of a pain in the !@#, and I think 30% was too steep of a nerf. But it does look like they are going to reduce blanket silences, it seems warlock won't have a blanket just an interrupt, and improved counterspell will be going away so mages will just have an interrupt, and silencing shot will be on a 4 second longer cooldown. It seems blizzards knows silences and cc are out of control and they are working on it, I'm really hoping that is the case.

I'm very new to the game, only hitting 90 and started PvPing about two weeks ago.
I have to say PvP healing in this game is harder than in any other MMO I've played due to the sheer amount of CC flying around. The classes (at least hpally) are not hard to get the hang of, but it's insane how easy it is to lockdown a player for 10-15 seconds if you catch them with their trinket down. Most MMOs I've played have a "dedicated" CC class that trades damage for additional CC. In this game every class, including the high damage ones, come with a crapload of CCs. Heck, as a healer I have 3 CCs I use on cooldown that can lock someone down for upwards to 18 seconds. The CC is utterly ridiculous and really cheapens the PvP experience. I'm looking forward to it getting toned down. |
