Returning player/mouse over help

90 Orc Shaman
So, I'm back after a long absence and trying to get a macro to work... My phone apparently doesn't like the ui forum, so here I am. Anyone with any knowledge tell me what I'm doing wrong? The plan is to cast at mouse over or if no mouse over-cast at target. What I've got is

/cast [@mouseover, help][] healing wave

Inserting different spell names as appropriate. However, it always cast at my target or on myself if I have no target. Won't hit my mouseover

You have auto-self cast turned on?

try: /cast [@mouseover,help][help][] Healing Wave

Not sure, but not having that extra 'help' in there may be confusing it.

/cast [@mouseover, exists] Healing Wave; Healing Wave

You can get rid of the help conditional all together.

A simple

/cast [@mouseover, exists][] healing wave

will do what you want. If you have no mouseover it will cast it on yourself, if you have someone selected it will cast it on them.
