Yeah my tracert stops at lax1.attens.net 12.129.193.254
Same issue. Tried all the usual fixes, updated port forwards and tried 3 Operating systems now.

Our network admins, along with our backbone server network admins have looked into this issue, and it doesn't look like anything on our end is causing this. You guys will want to contact your ISP to have them look into this issue further.

If that was the case, then how come my girlfriend who's computer is right next to mine (on the same network) never got this problem and I did? If it was our ISP, she should have had the error #114 as well.

The google DNS was the only workaround I could get to work.

Really!? That's the best you've got? Suddenly half the ISPs in Australasia screwed up... Well played...

For the record I started receiving the error after installing the authenticator so I don't know, maybe look into that instead blaming EVERYONE else.

Same problem here.

Tried running admin, 32bit, bypassing launcher, changing dns to the blue workaround and the /cmd stuff. No luck.

Game was working til I decided it'd be a great idea to install windows 8. Now I have double frustration and no distraction.

Okay mine is working now after following this thread again

Not sure why now.

Difference from blue post here = "*on the first line type in 8.8.4.4"

As I did had done the steps recommended in this thread I still have those settings active too (i assume). Perhaps adding this step in addition to the others is what has fixed it for me. I don't really know.

But worth a shot.

After not being able to play for the last 2 weeks because my computer died, I got a new computer and did a fresh install. Now I can't freaking log in and I am not happy about it.
I have no issues with internet access with any other programs.

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /flushdns
have set DNS on Local Machine to 8.8.4.4
have set Router DNS to 8.8.4.4
Ran Launcher as Administrator
- no change still error #114
...
Then all of the above but went straigth to Program (x86) directory and ran the WOW.exe.
No Change

Getting the same error, occured after a fresh install of windows 8. Once thing I've noticed is that not all, but a lot of the people getting this error are getting it after installing windows 8, just food for thought.

I've tried the dns work around, running 32 bit, deleting folders, a fresh install of WoW, nothing seems to work. If you're having this problem, please log into the forums and make a post, hopefully if we make enough noise someone will actually do something.
