Topic Consolidate Uldaman

There are options that work going in a few directions:
1. Merging can work, merging can fail: it all depends on the people involved, the communication and numerous other issues, some detailed in this thread by previous posts. It's an option to try for those willing and committed to making it work. We could all likely provide anecdotal tales of particular successes and failures, but what should be gleaned are the pratfalls and positives to making it happen if that is the road you chose.
2. Recruiting can work, recruiting isn't easy: again comes back to the people communication, time and commitment to going that direction.
3. F this place, I'm out - yup, another perfectly valid option is to try to find greener pastures. IMO, lots take this route without real planning. Take your time, check out the servers you are considering, roll a toon there, see what it's really like and watch their server forums - is it really that much different from where you're leaving?
The Hail Mary, or The Death Knell (Depends on your point of view):
4. Server merging - this is on Blizz, not too much we can do on the matter aside from clamoring for it in other more general forums if you think that's really the answer.
There is no one size fits all answer for all situations and all people. This thread has multiple conversations and may be served by breaking out some of the discussions. I personally think that many are much too fond of starting just another guild to simply start another guild that folds up shop and slightly reforms under a new tag every couple of months. Please stop that and those folks should consider banding together with other like minded players - and sticking with it for a little while. Find some patience.
I moved a toon to Frostmourne so I could Pvp and have something to do at night. Funny thing is....I see a lot of the same guilds recruiting for the same classes every night. Too many splinter guilds...even on a server of 15k.
Well from my experience one thing killing raids on the server is the lack of patience. Everyone seems to want the most experienced right away. Progression is Progression whether in baby steps or leaps. The raiding environment for casual players has been unfriendly at times.
Thanks Tekillya at least now I feel as though I was able to communicate some of the frustration that I have heard from other players who have chosen to leave whether to other servers or totally leave the game.
I know from the exodus of players to stormrage when everyone thought it was the number one server that the idea of successful guilds with heroic kills will bring attention to Uldaman and possibly some quality players. In that respect I appreciate what your trying to do, but who knows if there is a diamond in the rough on Uldaman that could be groomed into a superior raider. I just want to make sure that someone keeps an eye out for them as well.
Another issue you may wish to keep an eye on while your attempting these guild mergers is to watch for spys. Hate to say it, but there are some guilds on other servers who have sent people to subvert raid teams and recruit people to their servers. We at INDEED had one such person, he came in was a good raider and not realizing I was an officer tried to recruit me to the other server. He failed with me, However sadly I must admit he had success with some other players and that threw things into flux.
As you all try and build something great and attract people to Uldaman with success, you might have this problem. I hope it doesnt happen but none the less, Communication between the merged guilds and their members will be essential more than ever to keep your efforts fruitful.

So are we shutting down whoever's not on the list? =P
I know I was very excited to start the conversation on merging guilds to start 25mans but recently I have steered away from it. After talking to my raid group, we decided it just wasn't for us for the time being. In our raid group we are all Real Life friends, we actually live within a 10 mile radius of one another. Because of this we have started organizing raids via texts and in person and have started raiding at really awkward times. This flexibility has been awesome because there is no specific raid schedule and we just raid when everyone can doesn't matter the day. Because of this we actually recruited two other RL friends who used to raid in BC and WotLK and we are now actually 12 people in the raid group.
Now this doesn't mean that we are not willing to help the server. But because most of us can only raid 2 times a week usually we can't use up one of those nights for 25mans. Although I wish we would only do 25mans it just wasn't what the group wanted. I still try to be active in trade by forming groups for LFR, dailies or heroics. And if anyone ever needs a sub for a raid because one of your regular raiders couldn't make it, you can always ask me as I have gotten pretty good at getting that last guy that is sufficiently geared and knows the fights.
On that note, because of the circumstances I talked about earlier about having all real life friends in the group, two of our best raiders were left out and are currently without a spot. They work on their gear regularly by running LFR and doing dailies. They were the top 2 dps in all our raids consistently. One of them is a shadow priest and the other a WW monk, both 490+ ilevel. If any raid leader/GM is looking for two solid dpsers who consistently show, know the fights, destroy dps meters and never stand in fire, whisper me in game (Sundice#1173). I feel bad enough that they got left out, for no valid reason at all, so this is the least I can do for them.
The focus on 25man is ill-placed I think. Since many teams are still struggling to consistently fill 10 mans I think that any mergers and acquisitions should focus on ensuring at least 10 people can raid and potentially building multiple 10 man teams.
Guild's can more easily support multiple 10 mans than 1 25 man. Look at it this way. If you stick 25 players in a room more than likely you will have a high degree of difference in dedication, experience and skill. When you have that much variance in a team it's likely better to split them into two teams with different goals and tolerances then trying to stick them all together.
Groups need to feel themselves out first before stepping up to 25 man. We all know how the attendance boss works and to me a 25 man means 25 cogs. More cogs = more fail.
All this said spontaneous server 25 mans would still be great to see.

I moved my main + 4 other toons from Sen'Jin and a competitive heroic progression server first racing guild (Precedence), right before Panda came out.
I think a lot of people are looking at coop raids the wrong way. Instead of giving up a night or fixed times, we should just use whatever time we do have available with whomever is available, interested and competent to just do things.
One thing achievement points are good for is measuring the community of a guild. We do other things throughout the week, instead of just logging in to raid for 3 days and being non existent the rest. Something to think about for guilds that routinely only have a few people on except for raid nights....
Apologies for being absent lately RL has been a kick in the gutz here, almost lost our son a few weeks ago n then I went down with a heart attack last week... still logging most days to help guildys & any others who need it..
Tekillya - We ran with a couple guys from Lithium on Tuesday. Great guys. Unfortunately, we couldn't continue last night because of no shows (on our side) and between two guilds, we didn't have tanks. I talked to several others and Miscreation (really nice people) offered a tank, but we couldn't get another. Another guild showed interest too and we could probably form a good team between the three of us, but they only have Tues and Th available. Another has Tues/W. Not trying to say things can't happen, but so far scheduling has been a juggling act.
was glad to hear this was a good result and look forward to more of the same... without tanks & r/l we are not holding guildys to specific raid nites so most are available most times...
gr8 to see GM's still logging to /chat... keep it up !!! if not to fill specific raids then just to keep in touch with any issues generally or random in game assists...
Down for life has 86 players...with about 34 accounts. We have multiple players with 2 or even 3 accounts. Really...all you need is solid members and a good foundation. When we recruit we spend 2 to 3 days non stop scanning forums if one goes to bed the other takes over.
In the end its about the time and effort you put into making your guild work.

LOL ^ This guys mad. Theyre called RAF Accounts or friends. I personally have 3 accounts myself. 2 for me 1 for the lady. If you see someone farming chances are... We work for our raid materials and have toons for professions to save ourselves the gold we actually make which would probably be why most people on this server are poor and most our guildies are not. Personal farming is also required so we dont hold anyones hands and carry people unprepared. You take the time to recruit the right person. People on the same page as you, same determination, same goals whether big or small. And thats exactly what we look for and why our guildies have found a home with us... Some of us being together for a good portion of 4+ years together. I agree with small guilds ruining whats available to pick from and definetly makes it more difficult but if no one on the server has much experiance or talent then you look elsewhere. If you choose to run like Waerlogon over here, thats just your choice. Some of us prefer to keep our home and build it better by recruiting off the forums. Glad to see youre on Area 52 though for a 3/16H. That worked out alot better then Uldaman. But now I guess you wish you had a 2nd or 3rd account to say all those achieves were elsewhere
PS - Multi Boxing is not against ToS. It makes alot of things really fun if you choose to try it
Current Guild Ranking-
No. The idea behind that list isn't to have an end all be all ranking of guilds. Guildox, wowprogress and other sites do that already. It's so people that may transfer here see a list of guilds that are active both ingame and on the forums enough to want their guild represented.
