So many people from Maiev over the past year alone have transferred off or stopped playing entirely. Which practically eliminates any social aspect (aside from blizzard redoing some social aspects for Cata & MoP, in turn ruining something that was already working), I have interacted with more people on other realms than anything lately, but that however does not help Maiev or our guild.
The sole reason for people leaving though is that Maiev isn't what it used to be. It sucks now.
It is supposed to be a PvP server which no longer has any pvpers, something I always have enjoyed most, the majority of the ones still here "pvping" are just awful and well doesn't allow for any good players to really progress. When I say there are ones still here pvping I mean like 5 people on Horde and 8 on Alliance and usually only 2 hours out of the entire day, again when My guildies get on there is very few others online as well on the server.
Maiev should not be listed as a pvp server, I feel it is false advertisement. Not to mention the fact that there is fun to be had, which is completely false when it comes to this server, aside from certain stand-out individuals in my mind, there is no fun (that also has something to do with the fact that all there is to do is dailies).
Why does blizzard care so little about their small servers and small guilds?
THAT being another thing. I run a small guild, which is hard enough to maintain it to be small and active and actually get to know everyone to make sure they are a good fit, but when the server is small and DEAD, it is impossible to recruit, being I also never recruit players already in guilds (Any active players are currently in guilds). When any of our members that have stopped playing or transferred off can't be replaced because there is NO ONE to replace them with, and I do mean No One, it is time for Blizzard to fix it.
So why is a company that makes nearly 1 billion a year acting as though they are so hard up for money, refusing to help the little guys or girls in my case? Theories being that if you offer such things it means you are going downhill, which any current or former player knows will eventually happen anyways, but that does not stop us from playing. What stops us from playing is when the company (BLIZZARD) refuses to help current players and actually solve their problems, rather they aim EVERYTHING toward NEW players or OLD players (2 years+ inactive). Why are you not listening to ALL demands of your Current players???
We want ACTION, not hearsay of merging servers, or the company going down. Clearly if we are speaking out wanting a change, we also are wanting to stick around. I know Maiev is not the only low population server but I have created characters on low population servers that are FAR more active than ours which is as of right now a medium population server. Not sure where or how they calculate their numbers but just create a character and see that there is nothing to fix here.
Get rid of Maiev and other extremely low population servers. Offer free transfers to specific servers and once those servers are populated and activity has grown. Then at least we can all have fun again and actually be able to DO some of the current content as a guild not wait around in queues for LFR or LFG with people we don't know let alone like, because let's be honest its quite difficult to get a random group of people who are nice and know what the hell they are doing. As I said before, its nearly impossible to recruit to get a good player to join a guild and even more impossible to recruit people to do raids or rated bgs when they already have a guild they raid with and don't pvp or suck at it.
If you absolutely cannot do free transfers off this horribly dead server for everyone than at least do a discounted transfers for people who have all their toons here or an entire guild they want to move with all the members. There has to be something!
