WoW seasons are based off of what it is where Blizzard HQ is located, the pacific US.

Deal with it.

There is no winter in SoCal.

Always warm and sunny =/= No winter season.

Oceanic servers are still US based. The only purpose of them is to pool you with players that play the same time as you do. Summer in WoW still begins on March 20. Hence I was able to catch my Winter Squid yesterday.

There is not universal agreement that fish and pets use the same calender. We won't know until we know.

And in fact, all the evidence we have from the owls suggests that they do not (Nov-Feb =/= Sept-March). It would be very, very surprising if there were Guardlings tomorrow (though I admit, I would not be sad if there were -- the facts just seem to be against it).

As said before towards the OP (even though someone necroed this), if they did do the Qiraji for Oceanic Servers, you'd still be waiting for the Snowy Owl.

That said, there's absolutely no reason for them not to add the Qiraji Guardling now. It's Summer in game, there's no reason for them to put the pets on American seasons but the rest of the game on their own seasons.

Its spring in game. A fish with summer in its name being fishable during the spring doesn't make it summer.

Except it does. Those are the only indicators of seasons we have in game. Randomly changing that doesn't mean anything.

Unless they change the Winter Squid and Summer Bass to only appear at the same time as the Guardling/Owl, then they're just purposely screwing with pet battlers.

Uh no. The fish have never defined the seasons. They have been present for 2 seasons, such that one is always up. This doesn't mean that just because you can catch summer bass meant it was summer. It always, ALWAYS meant that it was spring or summer. You just chose to extrapolate that as meaning WoW only has two seasons, when it is just like the real world and has four.

I suggest you try to find where in-game we are told that the summer bass is summer only. Or even on the official site. You might be looking for a while.

So Cory said a few months to go. So this:

Summer in WoW still begins on March 20.

which is today, must be wrong. Even in Azeroth, summer must begin after Memorial Day. =P

Really? I thought the holidays were pretty good indicators that WoW has four seasons.

Winter Veil for winter.

Noblegarden for Spring.

Midsummer for Summer.

Harvest Festival for Fall.

No?

The only way I'd be for this change is if the Snowy Owl hadn't been available for you guys until the Guardling was available for us, because that's when YOUR winter is.

Then everyone from the northern hemisphere would roll a DK on an Aussie server and vice versa, so both sides could avoid the wait.

And don't get started on the Feast of "Winter" Veil and "Midsummer" Fire Festival...
