Our Guild <Challenge Eccepted> is seeking to move servers, from Darkspear US. A Massive, mostly PvP server, now with Login Queues. We've found it impossible to progress on a PvP server of this size, and are looking for something much smaller.
We made a list of possible servers to go to, ones with a decent population, and progression somewhere near ours.
On this list was Gorgonnash, and we don't know anything about the server.
So, what can you guys tell me about this server?
Few things I wish to know.
-Hows the On and Off server recruiting?
-Whats stopping current guilds from getting out of HoF and into Terrace?
-Is the trade chat filled with spam and trolls?
-How are the "Bigger" or "More Progressed Guilds" towards the smaller guilds.
-How good are most Random Pugs? For those nights where you can't fill a spot.
Recruitment = sucks as were a dead server
PVE progression = Lack of people herp derp best overall and they are down to 10man now
Chat = No spam or trolls
Guild sizes = There is no Clout battles for you pve nerds
Pugs = What Is This? - This is more like a Rare mob - achievement server, if you will.
no doubt about it, Gorg is a low pop server, but if you look at our server in comparison to others, we're by far not the worst off.
On server recruiting can be difficult, if you don't have an established raid, expecting to bring people in from on-server might take a while.
Off server recruitment is do-able, it's a matter of time invested in searching out interested parties and communicating with them through the recruitment/transferring process. We've been fairly successful in bringing in some new people from off-server.
Our trade chat is less troll-ey than it was, that said, it's also less chat-ey than it was. Things have quieted down in mists since, I believe there are less people afking by the mailboxes in stormwind. That said, we're not immune to trolls, though our more well-known ones have transferred in the past few months.
The raiding population on Gorg is pretty small. I cannot speak to horde side, but I do know that the server is alliance heavy. There's one 25 man currently (Tempest), another that I believe is just starting up (Downfall), and several 10 mans, Herp Derp being by far the most progressed, i think they're 4 or 5/16 heroic. edit: no at least 6 heroic - they just got will around christmas.
I can't speak to what's stopping other guilds from moving into Terrace. we started it this week, took a break from main raid over the holidays.
As for how guilds are towards other guilds - I'd say overall there are good relationships. To my knowledge, there's no active friction/disagreements going on.
Random Pugs - so far in mists the pug scene hasn't really gone anywhere on Gorg. It was very active in wrath, and a bit less so in cata. I think we'll see more pugging of MSV/HOF/TER when the next tier comes out.
