I don't use anti-virus and I've never gotten a virus. Just stay away from naughty websites and you'll be fine.
Strangely enough, many users here that only use their computers for WoW, still get viruses, even if they only go to trusted websites. Some WoW add-ons have keyloggers built into them. How does this add-on count as a naughty website if taken straight from Curse?
To give an example, there is a simple search you do from different web browsers that will give you different results. I had someone call me that was looking up "glucose" on Google Images in Internet Explorer. She found the image she wanted and clicked on it. Upon doing so, her computer downloaded a virus to the computer she was working on. The website the image was linked to was a legitimate doctor's website but through IE, the link took you somewhere else to download the virus.
Even though she has Symantec Endpoint Protection on her computer, that particular anti-virus I wouldn't recommend to a blind monkey using the computer to bang on.
yep I agree with Kodiak :P My favorite anti-virus program would be Microsoft essentials. But yeah you should really update you're programs such as java or adobe, there's exploits and dangers if you dont. Such as zero-day for adobe. Just don't download files that you don't trust because even if your anti virus doesn't pick it up that doesn't mean anything because it could be encrypted. Stay away from bad websites and yeppppp
