Ret is Fine

I don't understand how most people have issues with ret being not competitive in Arena/RBGS

Personally have zero issues with the spec in pvp, even back in vanilla while waiting for Seal of Command to proc with judgments every 8 seconds we were still fine.

Learn the role of a ret paladin. We are designed as support with burst damage, but primarily support. If you want to play a wicked melee class, roll a warrior or go play a rogue. Other than that ret spec is fine the way it is.

How many times are you going to post this same thread? I am pretty sure this is at least the 3rd.

If you think ret is amazing in pvp should you try a spriest and see how a real versatile hybrid plays.

While i like ret we not in a great place right now. But at least we ain't enh shammies

Yet our burst phase is easily countered and our heals suck.

I don't agree with some that it's all doom and gloom, but repeating that "we're fine" as if there isn't a need for some buffs to the class isn't productive in the least, and honestly bizarre unless that person wants to keep the class down for some reason.

Have 2 ret paladins and run 2s with the other with a spriest.
It's not that bad, you just need some skills to back you up.

And this is the 3rd post yes vs 2 million post of how they need to be fixed. Now begone /shoo

Can't blame this guy..
He was dropped on his head as a baby.

That or he's the best ret in the world with a lot of lenient R1 friends.

Maybe you should do more than 2s. Then you'd answer your own question, instead of looking like a jackass.

Cause right now, you DO look like a jackass.

Oh, right... I forgot 2s were all about skill and not blowing up someone ASAP.

Just wanted to stop by and say the author of this thread has never broken 1550 rating in any arena bracket, ever. Hell, he hasn't even won 300 matches yet.

He just does a lot of battlegrounds.

Maybe you should open your eyes a bit, OP. A more accurate way to say how you feel is "I think that me playing as a ret in battlegrounds is fine".

Oh and if your "other ret pally" has been successful in arenas, by all means put your money where your mouth is and post in here with him. Not sure why you wouldn't do that to begin with.

I get sick of hearing all this "in vanilla" bull$hit..
Playing since vanilla doesn't make you a good player, it just means you have played for a long time.
Guess what!? This isn't vanilla anymore, hell, it's not even cata anymore! It's MoP.. The game has changed and evolved to what it is now..
In competitive play rbgs/3s/5s ret falls behind the 8ball, well behind..
Stupid posts saying ret is fine because they were harder in vanilla can suck my left nut.
Atleast post why you think ret is fine?
Sure we've had our ups and downs, we have been worse in my eyes but compared to other classes IN MOP, we struggle to be competitive in arena and honestly, I wouldn't even bother with rbgs.
So how about posting something constructive.
If rets so fine then please, enlighten all of us how to play!

On a side note, last night I thought about rbg capping..
Saw some spam in chat 'LFM melee dps low mmr rbgs 1250+ must be full dreadful"
I thought bugger it, I can't be bothered running one mysel and it was late and not many guildies on so I msged him (full malevolent / half upgraded, 1900+xp ret, 1500 cr)
Got a reply saying, only interested in FDK, warrior or rogue..

Had to admit I had a laugh and said Good luck!

I'm tired of hearing this as well. I'm happy a few of you like the way Rets are now, more power to you but in the overall picture its a very small percentage. Last time I checked the "Class Roles" area we have "Tanking", "Healing" & "Damage Dealing". Nowhere do I see "Support".

Yeah .... having one of our primary DPS sources be completely RNG dependent, while it could be dispellable? Yep...we were totally fine!

Ret is fine for you, and yet the devs agree it needs buffs. I bet you're gonna be amazing next patch!

hey i'm stamatatos i haven't even reached 1500 in arenas yet but i top meters on every BG becuz everyone know that random BGs are where the finest competition takes place. You should be a skilled, less than 1500 player like me then you'll see that ret have noooo problems what so ever. If you guys were as good as I AM you too would be at 1400 rating too.

We are obviously just as good a spriests becuz i can beat dem in duel sumtime so spriest r just as gud as ret.

Buff to healing coming next patch = step in the right direction and ret is becoming more viable again. We're doing alright in terms of where our damage should be, considering were supposed to off heal, which isn't too strong right now but it's something. Next patch should be a big step. After we see how we are then, then start flipping a !@#$
