Lag for the last 3 days - Verizon Fios
|
I also for the last 3 days or so have had horrible high MS. Any update?
|

I contacted Verizon and they advised me that this is an ongoing issue and that they are aware of it. They stated that ETA is tomorrow 02/01, and that they contacted their central offices. Hope they do fix this and this helps some of you rest at ease until tomorrow.

Hi. I too am having lag problems. I have Verizon FiOS and am located in New York. This just started 4 days ago, on Monday, for me. It seems to only occur at night, at around 8pm-12am eastern time.
It spikes up to the red zone, to the 1000's and then 3000's, and becomes unplayable. It even disconnects me sometimes. The wierd thing is, I lag on Sen'jin and the battle.net site, but not on Wildhammer. My connection on Wildhammer is completely fine. |

That is what I fear.

Update for anyone following my awesome Verizon internet adventure! I just got done speaking to someone who actually knew what the hell I was talking about. Her response at this time
ETA says will be tomorrow, but I will be very honest with you, this outage is being worked on since last Sunday. Seems that is something more serious than what the techs assumed at first . In regards to the information I was provided by the awesome Blizzard Support to contact my ISP and speak with a tier 2 rep who knows how to read traceroutes. I do understand what they are asking us to do. But like I said, and I prefer to be honest. On this conditions (the current outage) we wont have any success with the traceroute As you guys can see, It might be a few more days. Hope this is helpful. |

Spiderduff:
You may have put a glimmer of hope for us all up there. The problem that I see with Verizon pathpings is actually more on the AT&T side and it is at a internet backbone hub. If Verizon is saying that things may be repaired next week -- that could well mean repaired for the rest of us as well. Those not using Verizon but still pathing through that problem zone. |
|
Glimmer or hope maybe...inspiring me to do a server transfer to a server closer to where I am, for sure. Please update as you get information, thank you Spiderduff.
In the meantime I get to level my alt in 10 minute increments between lag spikes. Yah for rest xp! |
Spiderduff: The actual issue in that pathping is Alter.net, not AT&T. Always start at the problem router earlier in the path and go from there. 5 25ms 11/ 100 = 11% 8/ 100 = 8% 0.xe-8-0-0.BR3.LAX15.ALTER.NET [152.63.114.249] 8% packet loss on hop 5. Any 100% packet loss shown on AT&T is because those devices are set not to respond. That's a typical configuration for Blizzard's network once you go past the data center perimeter. |

Well got an update
Thank you for waiting. Your service is attached to a slow speed group outage in the area. This problem began on Jan 25th, Verizon has been working to fix the server, but it's still a problem on our end. Should be solved within the next 48HRS. I apologize for that inconvenience. |

I heard smoothping is workng out for people...Im going to give it a try, I will let you guys know how it works tomorrow. It's 7.50 a month. It reroutes your connection to avoid the problem ATT servers causing the unplayable lag. Sounds solid to me!
