You'd probably be best to post in your class forums or the dps forums they might be more helpful there.

Fully gemming and enchanting your gear will give you a pretty hefty dps bump as will levelling your professions past 0 though.

You have no enchants, missing 2 gems, aren't hit capped, and have no professions. Your dps is where it should be.

Also, he has no belt buckle.

Also, do you have good uptime on Dark Soul: Instability? If you find you are forgetting to cast it you can invoke it automatically in macros wrapped around other spells.

I was going to say "you'd expect him to spend nearly 1k to add 1 gem to a crappy blue belt" but actually his belt is one of the best pieces of gear he owns, so yeah, you probably should put a buckle on it.

Replacing that green trinket would probably help too. It should probably be a priority the next time you get enough valor or even justice points.

LS belt buckles are selling for 551g right now on his server/faction (below the cost of mats, even.)

how much dmg were you expecting to put out on that rig? you need to gear up alot more. you have low dps because you do not have the gear/stats to perform at peak level and even that takes a couple weeks, RNG is RNG you know.

changing your rotation will not help, its stright up gear upgrades, keep doing your dailies and level those professions, raid finder will give you a decent boost in performance once you start clearing that out every week.

All of these minus hit cap. He is Afflic so he actually doesn't go for cap.

Character Audit
2 empty glyph slots -> Find out what are best for you and get them
7 unenchanted items ->Use cheap enchants if you don't want to use the best on blues/greens
Missing Living Steel Belt Buckle -> get one and put an int gem.

Hit = +9.43% -> Get as close to 15% with out going over.

Professions
Alchemy 16
Enchanting 1

Professions take a log time to do, if you don't have the gold or the time then I would use 2 gathering professions that would help you somewhat. Like Herbalism and skinning. At least you get haste and crit strike from them and make some gold selling in the AH.

Most beneficial while being economical would be to combine Alchemy or inscription with Herbalism at least you will be able to use the matts from the gathering to level up the profession and selling the left over herbs, and you'll still get the Haste buff from Herbalism.

Every little bit helps, and a lot little things stack up to something big. It might take some time but it will help your dps a lot.

Living Steel (un-smithed) should be in the 300-400 range on all servers - it was high when there was a glut on alchemists' cooldowns but now that there is no peak demand, that concern doens't apply. It would only be high if the server is so dead that it is hard to find an alchemist.

Sorry but you need to be at or very close to hit cap even as Aff.

Yeah the people who say "who cares if a DoT misses you can just reapply it" are lunatics. Going slightly under the hitcap is fine but not by 6%.

Even for a non-hit capped Aff lock, 9% is too low. And the hit cap thing is a Simcraft vs real-time encounters discussion, but if you're struggling with DPS, I don't think reacting to misses is something you'd want to deal with.

12% is pretty standard if you're not capping. Being under hit cap in low gear is fine, provided you can be good at watching DoTs.

If it works for you, it works, but I would never run that far under hitcap. It's all academic until you get 3 missed dot applications on a Garalon leg and wipe to berserk or something. If that only happens once every 1000 fights it's something you can just take as it comes, but running at 9% is just asking to get screwed.
