What would make you play a rogue?
|
|
rogues shouldnt use combo points AND energy to do finishers.
pallies dont use mana AND holy power. monks dont use energy AND chi. DK doesnt use runes AND runic power. they should seperate the two resources |
|
I've always wanted to play a rogue but everytime I do, I'm completely put off by the mechanics. Having to wait for your energy to go up after every attack. Also, having to position your rogue perfectly in front or behind the targets for each attack is a bit fidgety and annoying.

Fine then. We won't restealth but you don't get to hop into bear stance, warriors dont get to switch to sword and board+Dstance, pallies may no longer bubble, DK can no longer switch to Blood presence. |

Have not played this guy since ganking during Firelands dailies.
That is like the most fun of being a rogue... just messing with people. Also.... knowing even if you don't kill a lot of people you can still be the person in the BG who wins games for your side..... while messing with people ;) |

This thread has inspired me to start to try to brainstorm a rework of the Rogue class, to try and make my original career in WoW entertaining again. You're my hero! I think of that everytime I have to look up something LOL |

My biggest gripe about rogues is how little of an importance stealth plays. You pop out, do some openers, and then just melee away like everyone else.
Rogues need to be mostly invisible imo. I realize saying that and balancing for that is two different things, but I feel like a warrior without a charge, or a feral druid without heals. |

Maybe take away combo points and replace it with abilities that can be used in different sequences for bonus effects in some sort of quasi-fighting game way. You'd have 2 move combos for trash, and maybe up to 5 move combos for bosses. Of course, that's just silly talk. But combo points were just frustrating whenever I played my rogue.

I'd love to play a rogue. I've tried few times but I ended up deleting them because they don't have healing ability. At low lvl they are awesome, they don't need heals cause they kill creatures so fast that no damage happens to rogue. But later on, around lvl 40-50 things get bad. The rogue doesn't kill that fast anymore, gets big damage and no heals....so always have to run from a fight to bandage or eat. That sucks ok. Sadly.

I have an 85 rogue, but I know it'll be the last I get to 90, because it takes a lot longer than usual to quest on them.

I was always confused by stealth in PvE also. I leveled this rogue in Wrath mostly, then got around to hitting 85 right after they removed the stealth movement reduction. I hated having to start from stealth, being all slow. As much as I like the whole "ninja" aspect of subtlety, it was cumbersome in raids and dungeons. My biggest gripe about rogues is how little of an importance stealth plays. You pop out, do some openers, and then just melee away like everyone else. What will motivate me to level this rogue to 90? Was thinking about race changing to panda to see movement / attack animations. The few female panda rogues I've seen looked cool. |

This ^^ I have several casters. Shadow Priest is my favorite class by far, I also have a couple of mages, a lock and a druid. I started my rogue a looong time ago and futz around with her when I feel like it but the placement issues throw me off and the energy requirements. Maybe one day I'll finish getting her leveled up. |
|
A change to energy regeneration...I've taken a couple of other classes to 2200 so I'm not amazing but not brain dead either, but I simply cannot adapt to the energy mechanics of this class (I've only ever played sub). I always feel energy starved
I've never been super geared on this guy either so that may have helped but yeah |

I really enjoy my rogue, but he doesn't get played a whole lot. Eventually, he'll probably be delegated to herbalism and skinning duties.
My issues: |

I have two rogues.
Neither of them get played much, because I quite simply cannot get into the way they fight. Warrior 4 life. |
