Please don't give me that bs statement, "Undead can't be paladins. The light has left them blah blah." Undead can be priests, hell they can now be monks. Taurens can be Paladins! Undead were humans in life, humans can be paladins.

Irrelevant, Chi =/= Light.

Taurens can be Paladins!
Tauren are alive, though. It isn't as if a law of the universe is acting against them taking up this line of work.

Undead were humans in life, humans can be paladins.
What they were in life doesn't matter. What matters is that they're no longer alive, which automatically rules out certain career choices regardless of their previous tenure.

The reason undead in game can't be paladins is because channeling the Light is painful. Very painful. Most don't want to submit themselves to that, so they don't go the Light route, especially when the arcane, shadow and fel are there for them anyway. As to Priests? Shadow priests are what the majority of them are, not Holy.

Tauren can be 'paladins' because they use the nature power of the sun. They're probably more akin to druids in heavy armour, using a natural-light substitute for the actual Light.

The light hurts them, The only reason they are priest is because in lore they can be shadow priest, but the light has left them.

Priest spec.

Yes, that's the reason they can walk around and stuff.

Whether they can walk around and stuff is only relevant to the martial aspects of the Paladin's repertoire, hence why they can be Warriors.

Yet a minority of them are Discipline and Holy (e.g. Muerta*), whereas the undead don't have any paladins at all.

I know there's a reason for this, something to do with paladins being more in tune with the Light than holy priests, or being exposed to the Light more regularly than holy priests, but I can't be bothered to look it up.

Those would be death knights or warriors, maybe; not paladins. Paladins don't wield the shadow.

Because the "Forgotten Shadow" is just a more inclusive Holy Light.

So they shift to the parts of the Forgotten Shadow that the Holy Light doesn't cover. Bam, Death Knights. Because, you see, if you want chocolate-chip cookies but can't eat chocolate, you can't just substitute cement in its place and magically get the exact same result.

Very few of the current forsaken, if any would have been paladins. Most orginal undead were victims of the Plague of Undeath and paladins were immune to the plague.

There is also the fact that the light isnt viewed very favorably among the forsaken. It causes extreme pain and agony in any forsaken it touchs even if it heals them. Most forsaken see it as an enemy or at best something to be twisted to their advantage. This is why you have a group known as Lightslayers among the forsaken.

Paladins are like living conduits to the Light, even more than priests are. For a forsaken, this would be agonisingly painful. Very few forsaken would be willing to deal with that even if they were once dedicated to the light. Maybe you might find a couple in Azeroth but they would be very few and far between. Certainly not enough to establish a functional order to train new forsaken.

Forsaken logically shouldn't be allowed to be priests. Any explanation is total BS.

If Forsaken are allowed to be priests, they should be allowed to be paladins.

Because "Forgotten Shadow" is canonically questionable and doesn't even appear in-game.

Shadow? Lore states that Forsaken priests are almost exclusively shadow priests. They can be the other two specs in game because of balance. A few may channel the light just as a few Trolls may actually channel the light, it's just quite uncommon.

Okay, lets give an entirely different answer than everyone else.

Every Paladin playable race are from societies that develop and support an organization that trains warriors in the use of holy power. For the Blood Elves it's the parasitic Blood Knights, with Tauren it's the Sunwalkers, and generally in the alliance its a holy order of some sort.

For the Forsaken to have Paladins they'd need an organization dedicated to the training of warriors to use holy energy, and I don't see a place for that in Forsaken society.

Sir Zeliak of the Four Horsemen and Leonid Barthalomew.

However, I could see the Forsaken not particularly appreciating the Paladin arts enough to train them. There's room in lore for off class characters (Like the Human Gilnean druid), but for many mixes, there aren't enough to justify the class for players.

Ever been dipped in nitric acid, doused in gasoline and set on fire? That's what it would feel like for a forsaken paladin for every moment of his or her existence. It hurts a LOT and unlike priests, paladins are flooded with holy power 24/7. There isn't a respite from it. They'd also have their senses returned in full so they could feel the maggots burrowing and eating their flesh, taste and smell their rotting body. I doubt that is a very pleasant sensation.
