RP moments of despise and praise

What are some things when you see someone RPing make your skin crawl, and moments that make you give a nod of appeasement.

Obviously there is an abundance of eye rollers, but I hate child RP (people pretending to be like 8 years old... And then ride a dragon... Seen it before) and I hate the obvious cliche half-demon / fanged when their race doesn't have fangs anything... But man there are just so many things to mention here haha.

I really like when people don't mind wearing obvious flaws like a fat dwarf, an injured old orc shaman or a cowardly mage who would rather open a portal and flee at the first sign of danger. It's really not seen enough people who have serious injuries that are actual burdens. The arrogant will fight anyone warrior / whatever class is just so par for the course.

When was the last time you saw someone be faced with a hostile player in a bar, rub his fat belly as he looked his would be adversary over, shook his head in decline and ordered another drink instead?

Then you'd hate official lore.

He meant they were trying too hard to be special....I think. It's pretty tricky to RP those things. Plus Garona's a special case. She was originally just half Human - half Orc until.....well......Me'dan....

Just because 1 exists in lore does not mean we can make them. There is only one case of this existing not to mention half-breeds tend to be treated as outcasts by the society for their differences.

I think you shouldn't talk for other people unless you are specifically speaking on their request.

Just because 1% of the time they aren't outcasts doesn't mean we are the 1%.

Why can't we be?

Why is that 1% being depicted as being something to be ashamed of?

Don't worry. I'll keep all further questions in the thread that people apparently want locked because there is not a consensus on the topic.

I despise moments when my character is just hanging out and someone goes "[59 Blood Elf DK] kills Volkuza by ripping his head off of his shoulders and then drinks the blood."

I see what you did there. I got my eye on you mister. Anyways-

When people come along and think it's okay for their character to just beat your character down without your opinion or say on the matter. So, pretty much:

Things I despise...

Well, might as well get out a list.

- Stutterers who are adept spell casters. Despite it being discussed, and even my own admittance that somatic pronunciation isn't important in spell casting, I find it extremely difficult to believe they excel at spellcasting but cannot, for the life of them, lose a stutter. Or a lisp. Or any other speech impediment. Any master worth the title would have trained them out of that before even beginning with the manual labor needed to prove they have what it takes to be a mage.
- Blood Elves with Asian sounding names. Yes, my Blood Elf's name sounds latinic, but that is most for the fact Latin sounding names mesh well with the musicality of elf languages.
- The vampire RPers with rule 63 type names. I mean honestly, 'Draculara' or 'Nosferata'? If you're going to RP as a vampire at least be creative with the damn name.
- Troll-elfs. I haven't seen many but they're an old complaint and can basically be summed up with 'Barbaric elves' as well. I get you want to be pretty while decapitating people... but c'mon. You can still do that without the barbarian feel!
- The same old thing. RPers who RP as the same safe thing just get tiresome. If you're going to do it, at least put a new spin on it. Make it unique to your character.

Things I enjoy:

- Creativity. It isn't a dirty word. Be creative with your character. Whenever I see someone with a creative character concept I smile and just nod my head.
-

... Not much else.

Stutterers

A certain helf Kaldorei priestess comes to mind....She stutters 24/7...

So hard to resist walking up and smacking her and be like "Shtap dat"

Other than that, anything that really involves a lvl 58-60-ish DK I despise greatly...

Most of what you talk about (the fangs part and such) in my guild and even the server would be stomped into the ground untell further notius. the server i'm on is mainly horde but iv seen the Alliance do the same. We do not like the RPers that step on lore or want to be a Blood efls who is half orc.

too me its mainly MRP sheets that make me hang my head, I see it more in Moonguard then others and I get hy in moon but as a OK RPer I hate it when people include there sexuality to me thats something that should be discovered by interacting with the person not going flat out "This guy is gay!" or "His barn door goes both ways~".

The two half-Orc half-Draenei that we know of fit in perfectly well within their respective social circles. Lantresor mentiones that many of his kind existed in the past, but now they've become rare.

It seems it's just the half-Elves that are actually looked down upon by society.

I hate it when people start talking about lore people/events they shouldn't know about. That was something that really bugged me when Pandaria came out. Everyone and their mother was like "Oh man! Have you been to Pandaria?! It's so pretty! But there's all that sha around... And those Mogu. What meanies for enslaving the pandarens forever ago!" People don't learn the entire history of a brand new continent overnight, and traveling there isn't as simple as "oh my boat ran into it." It's pretty far out of the way.

Mindi didn't even know the place existed for the longest time. Just rumors, and then eventually the pandaren showing up. But even then she only knew of its existence, not its history, enemies, notable figures, etc. I think people forget that our characters live in a world where news is only spread through word of mouth and the occasional crier who shouts out news that's only relevant to that specific crowd. Even then, the information is usually broken in some way, since each person will butcher it a little bit along the way. Everyone tells a story differently.

Thiiis! Seriously, we don't have enough ugly/flawed people. Or scarred people. It also bugs me when people are like "So and so has a HUGE scar on their tummy." ... When am I going to see your tummy? Mindi's got plenty of scars along her stomach and whatnot, but I don't put it in her MRP because it's not always showing.

I also really really really love it when people dress... normally. Sure, leather armor is acceptable. It's usually not too uncomfortable and is overall useful. But plate? Who goes to a bar wearing plate? If I were a warrior, I'd take that junk off ASAP.

-I hate the "carebear" RPers. I'm talking about the ones who, for example, see a person RPing a race of the opposite faction while wandering around a capital city, and then jumping on the one RPer who decides they are NOT going to welcome the Night Elf in Orgrimmar with open arms. Then they preach about how the Alliance and Horde should be at peace and accept each other.

I don't mind characters who think that the war is stupid, but that Night Elf should be an organic smear on the walls, not openly welcomed by EVERYONE and given free drinks while the Orc who opposed it gets shamed for being such a meanie.

-Fox worgen. Worgen are based off WOLVES, not foxes. They are two different animals.

-Another thing that annoys me are characters who can solve ANY problem and can never be wrong, or do anything that would make people look down upon them. Is a loved one of your character missing? Welp, that person went out and found them for you, or at least an item from that person. Is your character missing the keys to his mechano-hog? No problem! That guy has had them the whole time!

-MRPs that tell me how I should have my character react to theirs. No, my character does NOT see your character as a goddess of beauty. No, my character does NOT care about your character's backstory. No, my character does NOT care about the size of your character's chest or junk.

-I DO like seeing RPers make simple grey, white, or green items look good. Not everyone is a towering badass wearing huge spiky plate armor. I like simple outfits. I especially love it when the outfit for the character is unique in the sense that I can immediately recognize a certain RPer when I see them.

-I love it when RPers are capable of making an Average Joe character unique and interesting.

I had a character who'd damaged her eyes, so she had to wear a blindfold for a little while. This guy I knew decided to bring in a 'doctor' character of his (that was a Forsaken who somehow had gotten into human territory) to 'fix' them for her. He was all surprised when my girl was NOT comfortable being even near an undead, let alone let him fix her eyes.

Then, after that, he came to me with a 'magic' blindfold that had been enchanted with runic/DK magic to heighten her other senses such as hearing and whatnot. I had to fake a bad reaction to the magic in order to get out of wearing it.
