Horde capital after the siege of Orgrimmar

I think they will make Orgrimmar entirely into a raid. Meaning, Orgrimmar will no longer be the capitol of the Horde. Where should they go and who will take the mantle of Warcheif after the death of Garrash Hellscream?

I am personally rooting for Baine and Thunder Bluff.

Pahaha.

Yeah right. Like Blizzard would alter their precious status-quo that much.

Orgrimmar isn't going to lose it's city status. It creates way too many gameplay problems. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the raid took place below Org, and the top part was just the opening sequence/few bosses.

As to who should be warchief, anyone but Baine. The guy couldn't lead himself over a cattle grid.

Then the horde couldn't use the resource excuse the next time they want a war.

Like what?

Blizzard would need to move some NPC's. That's about it.

As for questing? Just phase it out for everybody 90 and above.

Why would the Horde losing their capitol not result in a resource shortage?

Of course, it might not be a problem if they moved into, say, Un'goro.

Uh, the imbalance of cities between Alliance and Horde?

Because only orcs have a resource shortage, if they were relocated they'd be better off.

Plus, Orgrimmar is a giant deathhole. With Garrosh's recent 'upgrades' the city can get so hot that Baine couldn't made it from the gates to the throne room without collapsing, if not for his water supplies.

And given Orgrimmar has no available, easy-access source of water...

Which would require them to create an entirely new city from scratch, for a single faction.

Gameplay problem.

first i think this is a poor reason, second, they could easily promote Bilgewater to a full city. imo they should do that anyway.

AND faction bias claims.

''The Orcs get a new City and the Alliance loose Theramore/Southshore with nothing in return? GG, Blizzard, this is OFFICALLY Hordecraft''

or something like that.

Orgrimmar won't be affected by the siege. The siege itself will be instanced, the in game city won't show any after affects of the siege and will remain the Horde capital.

Move some NPC's, redesign the entire Orcing starting zone, and if we're talking about moving the Orc's capital to an entirely new zone like Un'goro, they'd also have to redesign questing around all of the neighboring zones to create a smooth leveling experience.

And that's before even taking into account all the butt hurt this would cause for Horde players. No, too much work, too many worms in this can, not worth the effort.

Fair point, I hadn't even considered the butt hurt this would cause Alliance players as a previously disputed zone becomes entirely Horde to accommodate the new Horde starting zone. As an example, if they put the new Orc Capital in Hammerfall, they'd have to convert Arathi into a horde only starting zone, but they could merge the Orc questing line with the Forsakens after that.

Actually I'd be willing to bet at minimum we'll have Garrosh and any other casualties of the battle swapped out with the new Warchief and any associates.

There are a couple ways for Blizzard to go about doing this. My favorite would be to phase the city over when a character completes the Siege of Orgrimmar in any difficulty, then do it for all players upon hitting level 90 once patch 6.0 hits.

Because the Alliance players TOTALLY wouldn't complain if the Horde got a brand new capital city in lieu of Orgrimmar being potentially wiped out in lore or being set as always under siege outside of an instance.

The "Just Blizzard showing their favoritism again for world of Hordecraft" excuse can't work both ways in this situation. Orgrimmar will be fine after the raid or we'll be getting a new Orc capitol.

You're delusional if you think they'd allow an uneven number of active capital cities between the two factions.

Edit: Capital-capitol.

I think Possibly Lor'Themar Theron, leader of the blood elves could become the new horde leader. Even if he's not an orc I think he has positive potential as an active and main leader in lore.

Finally update Azuremyst and Quel'thalas?

Ah, but you forget - It would be for the Horde. The Orcs specifically.

I'm pretty sure Blizzard would get it done for them.
