I would put them at one of the top tier pvp classes. great utility, survivability as well as great burst. dont exactly know their weaknesses in pvp atm but im sure a warlock will see this and post them.

Entirely depends on whether you're talking about Arena or RBGs. Top tier for RBGs, bottom tier for Arena.

Very squishy outside of our defensive cooldowns. Very easy to control.

Very good in 5.1, but in 5.2....the other specs are hurting by affliction may make a comeback.

lolwut?

Affliction has no real buffs. Counter specs to all lock specs are getting massive buffs. Currently on live locks are very low repped(3rd-4th lowest).

Better than current, but as strength in PVP is relative and so many other classes are getting even better, and we'll still have several deficiencies, I don't see how we won't end up as the worst class in arenas come 5.2. Rated BGs, if you care for them, will be better.

affliction on PTR is really effin' good.

healer + dps + affliction lock is 90% of everything on PTR.

the remaining 10%: 8% RMP 1% Monk/Dk/healer 1% misc.

affliction/spriest, afflcition/dk, aff/rogue will all be really insanely good comps next patch.

Idk where you're getting this since the majority of affliction was nerfs with the patch including a heavy handed GoSaC nerf.

no idea, but jump on the ptr and check it out yourself. 2's are all about rouge/healer or hunter/healer and 3's are nothing but affliction/healer/dps.

5.2 will be good for Locks in the sense that our PvP mediocrity will become blatantly apparent. As we currently share bottom-of-the-barrel with Monks/Rogues, and are the only of said trio not getting major buffs, being solidly on the bottom for a patch will be evidence of changes needed.

A nerf that results in a loss of <2% DPS should never be called "heavy handed."

The nerf I'm worried about is the change to UA glyph. While the shorter cast time is welcome, I'd very much prefer the damage on the dispeller and the dispelled player, especially with the way dispels work now.

Because the best players are on the ptr right? Anyone versed in pvp will usually tell you don't judge what you see in random bgs and arenas on the ptr.

random bgs.. no... arenas on the PTR are definitely a great way to judge the incoming pvp....

Not necessarily you need sample size that makes estimation valid and reliable. PTR does not necessarily generate a sample size large enough to make such an over generalization.

i'd be very willing to bet there are more people queueing 3v3 on PTR than on live on the majority of battlegroups these days.

The biggest buff to warlocks comes in the form of warriors getting nerfed.
Fewer warriors means more opportunities for warlocks.

That would be true if rogues didn't get these buffs. However that's not at all the case.

Possible but highly doubtful, just based on the sheer size of the entire population vs the ptr population.
