I recently had weird, massive lag and I took apart my laptop and voila, it works as good as new.
Its been running wow like a gem and never had issues up until the patch today.
When ever I go into combat with a Npc, Player, etc. My screen freezes and i spam escape and then the lag is gone until i click on a mob pane or player pvp pane.

I found a solution to those problems that i've also had.
1. Are you loading any out of date addons? As soon as i disabled them, my lag went away. Sometimes loading those kinds of addons works fine, some don't.
2.Are you using too many addons? There is a certain amount of space that can be used for it, and you might wanna try turning off a couple and seeing if it worked.
3. If you are still playing WoW when it didnt finish downloading fully, if you can wait, you should download it all.
See if any of those work! Good luck
