Wildly unstable FPS on rMBP

85 Blood Elf Death Knight
1845
So, since 5.2 dropped, I've been having huge fluctuations in FPS depending on where I am in the game world. I can get a solid 60 fps in undercity with settings between good and high, but if i fly out of undercity to, say, the ruins of gilneas, my fps drops like a stone to 15-20, and sometimes even below 10. This also results in a CPU temperature spike, and my fans start spinning like crazy. I don't have my graphics settings anywhere near an unreasonable level, and my resolution is reasonable (not anywhere near the full 2880x1800 the system caps at).

Please help me out with some feedback? This FPS lagging seems to be an issue among mac users since the patch dropped - specifically rMBP users - and I would love to hear a Blue response to this. Here are my settings:

Also, I am aware of the "sleep" bug that can affect performance, and have reset my SMC to ensure this is not the issue. I have also implemented all of the WOW low performance troubleshooting suggestions, to no avail. Please help me out, the game is basically unplayable in this state. Thanks!

I have posted this exact same issue as have many others. Not surprisingly, no response for a fix.

Test this !@#$ for months and then this happens.....

I'm glad im not the only one that noticed this recent bug, I would get random fps spikes. And the encounter Elegon, I never had low fps but last night was a MAJOR rude awaking trying that encounter at 1fps was not my idea of a great time :(

My computer is an iMac, though I'm suffering from the exact same issues. Computer is running hot, massive lag spikes (though not due to ISP as I run 9 - 11ms at all times) and persistent freezing screens which result in me waiting 10 - 30 seconds, or force quitting the game.
I normally run High, I turned everything down to Low, exact same problems, occurring at roughly the same intervals (between zones, combat, attempting pet battles, opening my map, phasing areas, attempting Kanrethad, and the entire Island of Thunder). All this since 5.2
I like most warlocks am very interested in this green fire but I cannot earn it because.. well you've broke the game, yet again.

Fix.
