Topic I don't have to tell you things are bad
I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It's a dying server. Everybody's transferred off or is too poor to do so. The gold buys a silver's worth; nobody posts on the auction house; there's nobody to buy anything you post; a CRZ squid-face ganks you from the sky, and there's nobody at Blizz who seems to offer a solution, and there's no end to it.
We know our community has decayed and our server is unfit to play. And we sit diddling our Cloud Serpent while some local guild tells us they will sell us raid gear for 400k, as if that's the way it's supposed to be!
We all know things are bad -- worse than bad -- they're crazy.
It's like everyone everywhere is transferring away, so we don't go out any more. We sit in the capital cities, and slowly the realm we're living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, "Please, at least leave us to till the fields. Let us have our boring dailies and our randoms with strangers and access to 300g glyphs, and we won't say anything. Just leave us alone."
Well, I'm not going to leave you alone.
I want you to get mad!
I don't want you to transfer. I don't want you to re-roll elsewhere. I don't want you to threaten to unsub, because I wouldn't know what to tell you to say. I don't know what to do about the dying community and the barren auction house and the absence of Alliance.
All I know is that first, you've got to get mad.
You've gotta say, "I'm from Andorhal, goddangit! My server has value!"
So, I want you to get up now. I want you to get up off of your mount and go to your chat box, open it, and /2,
"I'm as mad as hell,
and I'm not going to take this anymore!!"
This is one of the most melodramatic post of this kind I've seen in a while. You make it sound like you are a hard-pressed young brotha stuck in ghetto and "The Man" is keeping you down. Lucky for you I will be your Ken Reeves and teach you to play some basketball and life lessons.
nobody at Blizz who seems to offer a solution
Well you have solutions to your problems, you just don't like those options. Here's how I would suggest approaching those if you can't seem to find a way. If you really like your current character(s) and don't want to reroll you could:
1. Start a swear jar. Put a quarter every time you use a bad word and watch as you empty plastic jug becomes your Oskar Schindler and brings you to a server where all your dreams of a better life could come true.
2. Don't go out to eat for a month or buy pizza for a while. Sure it may suck to not go out and spend some money of tasty food for a while, but trust me it's worth it, "Because you're worth it" - L'Oréal™
3. Next time you go grocery shopping get the cheap stuff this time, let your butt ride on single ply just this time. Maybe get the generic cotton swabs instead of the luscious Q-tip™ brand, you and I know they aren't used for you ears, but damn it if it doesn't feel right.
So those were just a few suggestions I had, feel free to whisper me or send me ingame mail if you need more ideas in regards to saving money for character transfers. With that note, maybe you should just reroll a new character on another server you keep the achievements and it will allow you to really get to know your new server, it might be fun!
If what it really comes down to is that you really want to stay on Andorhal because you have some attachment to the server even though it's a shell of its former self and will never be what it used to be you could always cry more about it. I mean there is already a dozen threads about this, this one might just be the tipping point for Blizzard or the residents of Andorhal. I mean what else could we that could be as effective as crying? Maybe start an online petition, or start a Facebook page and get high enough amount of likes. These are the big questions even Andorhal citizen needs to ask themselves and contribute. Kyoto I wish you best of luck on your journey to fixing this server; the ball is in your court.
I understand your frustration. But at some point, you have to realize Blizzard is not going to do anything about it. We have asked countless times for a server merge with other low-population realms. But, they haven't done it. Instead, Blizzard offers free character transfers from high population realms to low pop ones. The exact opposite of what we want.
I finally transferred from this realm to one of the highest population realms in the game. I'm pissed that I had to pay the $25, but in the end it was worth it. I'm mad at Blizzard and they aren't getting any loyalty from making me pay. But, I decided to put my self interest ahead of my ideals and just pay for the transfer.
I have to tell you that the experience of playing on a high population realm makes the game enjoyable again. I don't understand why Blizzard persists in keeping dozens of low population realms online when it makes for a boring experience.
I'll give you my experience on the first day after the transfer. Almost all of my items sold on the AH in a couple of hours. An alliance guild raided Orgrimmar and took down Garrosh. I had some epic PvP battles on Thunder Isle. Trade chat is non-stop with invites to raids & rbgs and hilarious banter that reminded me of the old barrens chat.
None of this happens on low population realms. My advice to you is to give up trying to petition Blizzard to merge the low population realms and just transfer to a high population realm. You won't regret it.
