Zandalari Warbringers -- Horrid Experience

I was in Kun Lai Summit killing a Zandalari Warbringer with a friend when we were suddenly beset with adds. Initially, I thought they were the usual birds aggroing, till we noticed this guy, Jerica and several of his guildies from <Ravenous> were proximity aggroing the mobs in the area and dragging them through my friend (a DK)'s aoe (which was thrown down to kill those bugs that the Warbringer spawned).

Jerica and his friends managed to get the elite flying thing that spawns near Warbringers and a Zandalari Warscout to aggro onto us... as well as several non-elite spawns in the area.... we barely managed to kill the Warbringer (it died on a tick of SW:P just a second after we wiped otherwise I would have been more pissed off).

Anyways, this is really disappointing ... I would have never expected such disgraceful behavior from people horde side. O.o I mean, it's easier to grief someone if you can't talk to them... e.g. cross-faction stuff especially on pvp servers. I mean, I could have totally been in a Sha or Galleon raid with these people at some point!

Well, I know Blizzard won't do anything about this and such things are probably the norm or would be in future.... but I sure wish justice would be done. >.<

How do you almost wipe with two players on a Warbringer? I've !@#$ed up and have agrod all of that crap solo (woo fear) and been fine.

edit: So I was bored and went to replicate this on my crappy DK to see how hard it could possibly be (http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/blackhand/Ryley/advanced), http://i.imgur.com/dKOjOWL.jpg absolutely zero problems. How awful are you to almost wipe to that? Rocking the crappy DPS gear with sub 100% blood shields, if I were in tank gear I could probably just stand in everything instead of having to avoid it.

Annoying and disappointing, yes.

But if you don't like playing with others and competing for scarce resources then maybe you should reconsider playing MMOs.

I've had some amusing antics from others. Kiting mobs on top of me. Had a horde bear druid and his friend flag under me thinking I'd tab and hit them and so on. The bear druid that tried to flag me was more amusing just because after I killed my warbringer I caught him and his friend wiping to a warbringer. I debated about taking the tag after they died but left it for them just using a /lol at the druid. Caught them the next day or so trying again though I think they learned that a DK in Blood Spec can basically handle everything a Warbringer can dish out and then some.

Hello, Shalowsh.

I am the GM of Ravenous. I read your post here and thought since you were so very concerned about the digital travesty my guildies bestowed upon your gentle soul you might like a reply.

First of all, his name is JeriYa, not Jerica. If you're going to publicly point your fingers, at least have the decency to point them at the right person.

Second, I'd like to know when this took place. When the warbringers first came out, everyone and their grandmother was farming the hell out of them. During those first two weeks a bunch of my guildies were farming them as well. I am slightly (totally) anal about representing our guild tags well. I told all the guildies farming the bringers they could grief the hell out of 1.)The cootie-ridden alliance and 2.)Anyone who griefed them first. There were some initial problems, I would get whispers from angry players claiming my guys griefed them. Always the same story, they were completely innocently trying to kill bringers and my big bad guildies swooped in and mercilessly ripped them new buttholes. Every time I got a whisper, I did some digging and in all but one case discovered the players had in fact griefed my guys first. In one case the person was upset because they had been camping a spawn point, and our guys landed and took the kill as it spawned. Apparently some people believe the tag should go to whomever spends the most time waiting for it. Sorry, but that is not how it works, ask anyone who has spent any amount of time camping the time lost proto drake, or any other rare mount.

Even though the claims were silly and mostly unfounded, I decided to tell my guildies they were no longer allowed to grief any horde player, regardless of what that player had done to them previously. They grumbled, but obeyed, because my guild is full of f*cking awesome people whom I wouldn't trade for anything. Lately hardly anyone has been farming the warbringers, most people either got their mounts or decided they didn't care any more. Once a day I make the rounds and all five are up every time. I find it difficult to believe my guys would have swooped in and tried to take your kill, as there were probably four other ones up they could have gone to kill.

I suspect there is more to your story, but I have to tell you, I couldn't really care any less. I am a shadow priest and I can nearly solo a warbringer if I clear the area of any adds first. I'm not really sure how you managed to wipe to a warbringer and the bird in the first place. Perhaps you could think of this as a training exercise. Now you know what to expect and you can better plan for not sucking in the future!

The one time my guildies actually had griefed a horde player who only shared the same guild tags as someone else who'd griefed them first, I definitely did do something about it. That's when I told everyone in the guild all horde players were off limits, no matter what. I also offered the person who brought it to my attention 2 hours of our time to farm warbringers with/for him and pass on all loot including mounts that may drop in that time. I spoke to each person named personally, made them understand that representing our guild tags well is incredibly important to me, and therefore us as a guild. Even though they thought it was okay because the person they griefed was in the same guild as someone who had griefed them first, they did all agree that representing our guild tags was more important than paybacks, they also all agreed they were in the wrong on that particular occasion.

I will speak with Jeriya again, and ask him his side of the story, and if I feel he was in the wrong I will do something about it, and if you would be so kind as to offer the name of your main, I will offer you the same deal. I will bring Jeriya along and anyone else you can name, and if in fact they were in the wrong, they will donate two hours of their time to farm warbringers with/for you if you would like.

That being said, I'd like to take this time give you just a smidgeon of advice. In the future, when you have an issue with a player in game, try talking to that player first so that you might come to some kind of agreement/understanding. If that doesn't work, try talking to that player's GM. If that doesn't work, then bring your complaint to a public forum. This way, people might think you're actually an adult in possession of a spine, as opposed to a whiny, sniveling twirp with giant emo tears dripping down your face.

My in game name is Winter. If you would like to speak to me further, feel free to whisper me. If Shalowsh is not your main, either post your main here or mail/whisper me it in game so that I might get back to you after speaking with Jeriya. Thanks, you putz.

That same Hunter grieved my friend and I when we were farming Warbringers, too. But it was all in good fun because we annoyed him.

-1 to Winter for the elongated post when all you had to say was, "Get over it".

Hi guys,

Thanks for your replies.

Ryley >> TY for the info. Glad to see that you're doing something constructive to alleviate your immense boredom.

Mughal >> I think fair competition is OK. The fastest finger gets the mob -- that's absolutely fine. This is more like stabbing your competition in the back before the judo match.

Tor >> Thanks for sharing. :) Good to know this is considered normal, but it's not nice anyways.

Winter >> Sorry, didn't read your wall of text. Basically, Jeriya and his guildies came when the mob was already half dead. We were just totally surprised when we started picking up a !@#$load of adds, including the elite bird and another Warscout. Initially, we thought that was an accident and that they didn't mean to train the mobs onto us, until we noticed people actually running through the boss with regular adds in their wake when he summons the tiny adds. There was another warrior involved, also from the same guild. This happened today, a few hours before I posted. Anyway, sorry to get his name wrong. To be fair, I didn't see him do the deed. There were so many adds to handle that I couldn't be sure what exactly happened. He was part of a group of people who did this. I'm sure he would be glad if we wiped and he got the rare.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree here.

+1 For actually taking the time to come on this forum and reply to this, where most people would normally just ignore the realm forum all together.

+1 For offering actual restitution to someone who might have been wronged by a member of her guild

Well, he did sound a little defensive and yeah, it was essentially a wall of text telling me to "Get over it". He did also include a little on how awesome he was on his shadow priest and how I suck for wiping on a group of adds. He is also way more likely to believe his own guildie than an absolute stranger. I honestly don't give a flying !@#$ what he thinks or plans to do. I didn't come onto the forums to seek restitution or to point fingers at his guild. I merely wanted to share an unhappy experience as people usually do when they feel down, kind of like when people complain about a long hard day at work. I used to play on a PVP server where most of my day was spent running back to my corpse when all I wanted to do was to finish an escort quest. I came to a PVE server to avoid all that.

I have certain principles as a player and as a person, and I think as a guild leader, Winter would understand the need for such things as well, because nobody would want to be in his guild if he were an unprincipled character. He should. Hence, I also think a little more sympathy wouldn't be amiss. That said, I would never engage in exploits or take advantage of game mechanics to steal what is rightfully others'. Same for trade-chat trolling or forum trolling or LFR trolling and whatnot. Azeroth would be a way happier place if other people thought the same.

I also wanted some answers. I couldn't for the life of me understand why would people pull sh*t like that. It's just a stupid mount, FFS. All I wanted was the rep tokens. Was it out of fun or did they just really want the mount real bad?

1) I imagine Winter would find it hard to pass on an opportunity to write an insulting wall of text.

2) For offering restitution to someone while telling her that she somehow brought this incident upon herself by provoking his guildies in whatever imagined way.

Funny how perception can alter one event so differently for various people.

I have spoken to Winter in-game and she was great! I accept that perceptions differ and since there is no way of establishing what happened, I apologize for posting here instead of going directly to the source.

If there is any way of deleting this thread, Blizzard... it would be absolutely fantastic.
