LFR hero tanking.

Guides I have found are all for normal and heroic versions. But we don’t swap dogs in stoneguard…we don’t shroud epicenter…No one goes to the other side with totem… No one grabs spears and cc’s adds…hopefully 1 person knows how to deal with pheromones…Half the party kicks the shells at the boss…if 5 people know how to deal with eggs you will make it even if the rest of the party is busy licking windows… there is nothing to kite cinders to but if the healers dispel it fast you still wipe…etc.

Is there an LFR guide to tanking?

Gem Stam. Every. Socket.
Avoid using any active mitigation for your class.
Taunt on cooldown.

Everything will pretty much die, and all mechanics can be ignored.

Fine then, i will just go and bash stuff in the face with my shield.

It is why have this toon in the first place.

Still, I think an LFR," if you don't get off the platform you will die" guide would be useful.

Call it "how not to be stupid in LFR 101."

Prehaps we can get the author of that "how to tank starter edition" guide to write it.

The problem with a guide like that is that the people who need to read it will not come here and read it.

for the most part? guides are worthwhile to at least watch, you'll figure out what isn't as awesome to worry about as you go.

The normal guides work just fine just use them. You'll figure out on what you can slack on with experience.

Navigating that site can be weird, just search google for "no life at 90 (insert LFR name)"

He breaks down each boss into roles and basic strategy, I've used it for every LFR

MGV:

Boss 1: tank bosses together.
Boss 2: take the right-hand blue crystal, use extra button on boss specials like earthquake and draw flame.
Boss 3: kill white add when ported down.
Boss 4: tank first mob facing raid. raid runs through boss at Annihilate. Tank + spank the rest
Boss 5: Tank boss, tank add. Kill add. Kill little adds. Rinse/repeat until boss dead.
Boss 6: Tank boss in a corner by the stairs. Dodge slash (watch the blue slash animation)

HoF:
Boss 1: tank boss. Dodge !@#$.
Boss 2: swap boss on 2-3 stacks of Assault. Tank away from tornados.
Boss 3: stay in front of boss, don't step in purple circle.
Boss 4: tank adds and boss. Pull boss to center of room and tank there at 75%.
Boss 5: when transformed spam 1 on boss, or abomination. Use 2 or 3 to interrupt yourself.
Boss 6: swap on 3 stacks. Tank adds. repeat until 30%. Dodge purple %^-* on ground.

ToES:
Boss 1: move boss from blue puddle. Kill Kaolan, then Regail, then Asani.
Boss 2: face away from raid. Swap on 15 stacks. use sunbeam to reset stacks. Tank big add in front of boss, 10-20 meters behind healers.
Boss 3: swap at 10 stacks. tank adds. kill one, mark it.
Boss 4: stand in yellow circle. Tank boss. Taunt boss if other tank is ported away. When add is dead on outside platform, click the yellow light in the middle of the pagoda to return to the boss.

From a thread on mmochamp

Only change is to tank swap after Tsulong's breath, instead of at 15 stacks.

EDIT: Read the blog Droodpower linked above. It's awesome.

I don't know of any consistently posted guides on the forums like that. Guides do occasionaly pop up like the one posted above. However, several different external sites do LFR guides. Here are two different sets of ToT LFR Guides.

They have also both done guides for the earlier tier of LFR but I don't have the links.

Ten Ton Hammer - LFR Guide

Hope these help.

Joystiq has 5 second articles to the LFR's at least for ToT. It's basically a paragraph of how to do them in LFR and in as simple as terms as possible.

?

It was a fairly straight forward question, answered in a simple manner. Guides that explain LFR stoneguard, without a 15 min lesson on dog swapping and diagrams do in fact exist, here they are.

Aside from some more joking about how easy LFR is, or poking fun at the OP for asking the question in the first place, what more could be said?

Was that an attempt at sarcasm, or is there really more to tell?

Was not meant as a joke comment. Many people use lfr as a way to learn the fights as the mechanics are not entirely the same as in normal modes.

LFR is not a place to learn.

VOX, fatboss, forums, etc are a place to learn.

LFR is a place to practice.
