Haste!

Well i see no threads i can take, for my own info so I'll make one.
Simple question: I finally got BS to 600 so i can now add extra gems to my gloves and wrists. So should I keep feeding haste, in the extra slots, or can I add Strength for a change? As is my Haste is x2 more then my Strength in gem/enchant terms. So is it about time to start using some str/haste or pure str gems?

You should probably stick with haste. at this point. The actual damage gains may not be noticeable, but it really adds up.

At what point do i stop stacking haste? In favor of hybrid str/haste gems or pure str.

As I understand it? When they change the way gems are budgeted. Or you reach 50% haste - and even then, haste may still be better.

The question is backwards: at low gear levels (as a rule of thumb, blue gear) you want to gem Strength. Once you pass a certain threshold, you switch to Haste-centric gemming. After that, it doesn't turn back around and favor Strength again at any relevant threshold - keep stacking Haste forever.

I guess it's the armor playing tricks on my eyes. Some people's STR and haste seem about even, and to me my STR just seemed a little low. That why I ask, as well i do run across some RET's that have hybrid haste/str gems with armor not to different then my own.

They could have more red sockets than you do.

Then you're doing less DPS than you could be by stacking Haste instead. Mastery is good, but Haste is better.

I did not find a single full stop, comma or capital letter outside of TV in that whole paragraph.

For JC gems, you use STR

Stat weights will vary by your current gear, but the current ones from EJ are:
STR = 1
Haste = 0.54

Therefore the value of the JC gems is....
Quick Serpent's Eye: 480 x 0.54 = 259.2
Bold Serpents Eye: 320 x 1 = 320

Your personal haste value would have to reach 0.67 or greater for the Quick Serpent's Eye to provide more DPS than the Bold

Put strength haste in all red sockets. And pure haste in all yellow sockets. The only time you gem pure strength is if like the above said. The Serpents Eye JC red Gem. At this current tier there will never be a time for you to stop stacking haste. If you have a prismatic socket then pure haste is 100% the way to go.
