FPS issues

Every now and then my frame rate will drop to around 9 for a few seconds, while not a terribly bad issue it is extremely annoying...

I am still downloading the game while playing so I was wondering if this was caused by that or some other issue?

Byunduni ,

It could possibly be due to content still downloading, but it could also be caused by overheating components in your computer.

Download and run HWMonitor from: http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/1.21-setup.exe

Now start the game and let it run several minutes. Then exit or alt-tab out and see what the highest temperature is that was reached for both the cpu and gpu (video card).

Also run a GPU monitor. Not for temps but for GPU usage. Whenever my FPS drops, I notice a drop in GPU usage.
I use MSI afterburner, it has several graphs for monitoring everything on your video card.
I very rarely see my gtx 460 go over 50% usage and temps never exceed 48deg C.

I can get a solid 60 fps and then in certain situations, usually in 10-25 man bg or raid my fps will drop to 10ish. Usually when there are lots of spell effects. In the mean time, my GPU is chugging along at 20%.
