Is it essential to get a 5cp rip on target? Or will 4 suffice?

If you want your rip to do 80% of it's potential damage, go for a 4 point rip.

-_-

4 points: floor(4 + 12 * 4 * 1 + 0.0484 * 4 * AP * 1 * 8) damage over 16 sec.

5 points: floor(4 + 12 * 5 * 1 + 0.0484 * 5 * AP * 1 * 8) damage over 16 sec.

Could there be some very situational reasons why you might want to get a 4 point rip up? Maybe. But I'm hard pressed to think of any.

Quick Predatory Swiftness procs.

Additions: If that is the reason you'd like to use 4cp, just hardcast whatever it is.

I can't think of a time when I've done a 4cp Rip unless maybe I'm about to die and I wanna throw it up on someone in the hopes of getting a kill after death. Otherwise I always throw up 5cp.

More often than not I'll just do another SR if I'm fishing for a PS proc. I mean there could be situations when your rip is falling off and you need to fish, but usually it's SR/FB for me.
