Topic SUPER LOW ACTIVE POPULATION - HELP BLIZZARD
I honestly wish there was more we could do to revive both sides of our once thriving server. Our server while always remaining on the smaller side was always a fun server to be on. Lately whenever I log onto toons on here (on both horde and alliance) It seems to have just lost the luster it once had. Pugging still seems to be possible on Alliance side... but on Horde it is next to dead with the exception to an occasional attempt to get past Horridon. Times are hard on Darrowmere (and getting even harder every day) and it unfortunately wasn't able to offer what I was looking for anymore. If the server is ever going to stand a chance on becoming somewhat noteworthy again we(as in both factions) need to come up with a plan to keep it alive. Be it more active attempts at helping our pugging community, growing a more friendlier atmosphere, or truly offering help whenever possible. If we can have a stronger base with what we have, we can eventually start building on it and maybe have a chance on having our once great server thrive once again. While this server wasn't my original server, I will always consider it my home and the last thing I want to see is my home die.
@Phaydre I miss waving at you!! :(
I figured this forum needed more cats.
Back in WotLK this was a great server...i know it thrived before then, but I had a lot of fun. Yes, I may have trolled too much, bu tit was just me having fun in the game. I nevermeant anything by it. I don't even troll anymore.
On to the subject at hand. Phaydre is right, this server won't improve until people want to improve. The overall lack of caring about your character and players lacking knowledge of their class have caused many people/guilds to xfer off. It doesn't help that a lot of people on Darrowmere are stuck up and think they are too damn good at this game to help a struggling server improve by imparting knowledge upon players who are new/don't know about resources. You can ask anyone who was around when i was on my lock(Maleia) and they will tell you that I openly helped anyone who wanted knowledge, heck I ever helped some guilds through content we had on farm. The problem is people don't know stuff and most people are unwilling to help. I do feel really bad for this server because I loved my time on here when i ran Mythic, it was one of the highlights of my WoW career and i got to know so many cool people. Yes, we had a rivalry with IOP, they might hate me, but I always considered it more of a friendly rivalry(I think they believe otherwise).
I kind of got off subject there and I apologize, but my word of advice to y'all is to help one another so that you can become better. The change on Darrowmere starts when people start actually caring.
P.S. Hyjal is a high pop server and still has many PuGs who can't kill Jin'Rokh. So numbers aren't the problem.
Much love Darrow and if you need anything feel free to hit me up :D,
Mal(former GM of Mythic)
Nobody will be transferring to Darrowmere because people are having issues recruiting now. To fix this they go to high pop realms. It sucks because there's some really cool die-hards on that realm. But they continue to dwindle and they'll become extinct soon.
Additionally, as a whole the realm needs to get better. I made attempts here and there to go onto the realm and fix some people, but it was only ever a drop in the bucket. Because people don't have competition for pugging there isn't any reason to be better at your class. The few people that are good and don't waste people's time leave because being bad there is the norm.
Additionally, there's a severe lack of #yolo on the realm.

/snickers at all of the people who realm-transferred last week
Why snicker? Most I know that realm transferred from Darrowmere were smart enough to not just realm hop, but battle group trade as well. We may end up with a strong battle group (Depending on what realms we end up with in VR) but as always there will be bigger better battle groups that people will flock to. In fact, 3 people who transferred I know went to Illidan JUST to be in their battle group. Does it mean it will be better? No, but looking at rankings such as realm/guild ranks for all servers, you can pretty much see where people will flock first.
But on a happy note, we on Darrowmere will once again be able to PuG, grow our guilds, afford the AH (Mebbe), and finally just be able to play like a regular realm full of people.
1 can dream can't they?
Uggg! Merged AH. More twits to deal with that don't understand the rules of economics.
Just let me post my heirlooms cross-servers & I'll be happy.
btw there's something rly terrible about this issue...there's a creation of tons and tons of new guilds with of 30 with just 3 or 4 active members...guilds are not sticking together. WE NEED TO STICK TOGETHER AS HORDE IN ORDER TO MAKE DARROWMERE TO SURVIVE.
I rly wish we could create a merge of different guilds amongst the horde! that rly could help. I rly invite to the guild masters to think about it.
My original realm was darrowmere and i occasionaly like to drop in and see how things are going. phaydre is right. server xfer or merging wont fix things. I have seen plenty of people xfer off and end up quitting wow because of how hard it was to get into a good raiding guild on a high pop server due to being "average". The biggest issue i saw was playing at a sub-par standard was the norm and was accepted as being ok to do so.
I don't miss Darrowfail a bit. It was my original realm. My first realm and there's some nice folks there but most of the people I was close to left for other places. Myself, I got sick of groups we put together getting wrecked in random BG's so I transferred to a PvP realm and have never had more fun in my life.
I immediately learned I have tons to learn.
I realize that in PvP there's only limited correlation between KB's and damage and all that and winning, but when you're in a pug BG group who can't kill anything and the other team are from a PvP realm and they're pwning your people they tend to win. IMO, everyone in the game would benefit from time on a good PvP realm. You learn to be a better player.
