Legit Concern: Retribution 2pc & PVP power

With the Nerf to pvp power , and Ret 2 pc doing :

Paladin: 2 piece: Item - Paladin PvP Set Retribution 2P Bonus: Your Crusader Strike now also grants you 1000 increased PvP power for 6 sec.

Ret sustained in pvp was based on the current damage it provides with 1000 extra pvp power and to a large extent , sustained damage in 5.2 is still low.

In 5.3 , PvP power scaling is getting nerfed , which is an indirect nerf to Ret 2pc, Any plans to address this ? The argument that every class is being affected by the change is not valid because our damage is scaled around this extra 1000 pvp power, classes such as warriors ( example) are not losing this damage scaling, due to thier damage not being dependant on such.

Soo... ?

use the pve 4pc (in 5.3)

no reason to use the pvp set...a bit of (nerfed) pvp power? 1 holy power on an 8s cd? meh. they need to buff pvp set bonuses or noone will use them

And hunters are getting a nerf there (of sorts). Rather than the immense of PvP power we get from RF, we're only getting 800 (iirc) from Arcane Shot. Which means even less burst with the nerf to PvPP

Yeah I can agree as for one , that PvE sets are looking alot more beneficial , I would gladly give up 2k pvp power for a set bonus that is actually useful.

Well it could be worse...you could only get 800 PvP for 6 seconds like hunters.

The Blizz devs are reactive not proactive so I wouldn't expect them to have taken the combination of affects into consideration.

But 5.4 will definitely fix it.

if you have access to this tiers 4pc, use it. you can even proc the 2pc from range (exo).

it literally makes TV do over twice as much damage, and doubles your mastery damage as well (unmitigated TV = more hand of light dmg). not to mention 2 shoulder slots and 3 on the chest for gems. losing a bit of pvp power doesnt come close to how strong this is, just use pvp items in other slots.

You know, I was totally about to tell you how wrong you are sanctified.

Then I looked up the stats of the White Tiger Battlegear (T14 Ret set), and it is in fact better than the current Tyrannical set statwise. It will be even better come 5.3 with the nerfs to PVP power, and lack of resilience on PVP gear.

However, you cannot in any way (outside of world PVP) gain the T15 bonuses because the instanced PVP item level cap is becoming 496 (498?)

Unless they significantly buff PVP gear in some way or revert the PVP power nerfs, old tier set bonuses may become an issue.

Ret is already get a pretty large buff when 5.3 hits. We'll see cries for nerfs before we see cries for buffs pending next patch.
