Topic Dedicated healer self healing and off healing
What if healers had all sorts of nifty tricks to Escape damage, and had fantastic self healing, but their off healing only scaled as well as the number of players they are grouped with.
So for example, a healer would have the same self healing as he always does this way they are hard to kill, but their off healing would cost more or less depending on the number of players around that they are responsible for.
This way healers mana pools last just as long in 2's 3's 5's RBG, 10 & 25 man raids.
And for FK sake its just a basic idea, not scientifically scrutinized or anything like that.
^ you could do it with bigger mana pools, or just make the healing spells cost more or less depending on number of players for off healing only.
This way the self healing is a static cost no matter the number of players present preventing the healer from being stronger or weaker due to number of targets he is required to heal. That way blizzard could balance the self healing independently from the off healing, and make the off healing valuable and balanced no matter the group size.
For what ever reason I was thinking of why some healers are better in different group sizes, and then was thinking.. How would you fix that, so that they are all decent no matter the group size and then I was thinking... Whoa.. 2's, 3's 5's.... RBG and Raid could all be balanced......... O.o
this is a pretty interesting idea. It could allow the devs to tune things very well.
only problem would require more devs to deal with all the new coding. if something like this was implemented would have to be in a new xpac or a new game because it would require such a huge revamp of the game.
I'm really confused as to how anyone thinks this is a great idea.
Some healers are not resto shaman so they don't do as well in all situations as you do. Did you know Priests and Pallys are the top healers in Raid because of the absorbs they give; this cuts the balls off resto shammys and resto druids.
Resto shaman in PVP are fantastic because of their mastery, and that makes them next to Disc priests the best healer in game.
Why should it be that resto shaman and Disc preists can sit comfortable at the top while Druids, Monks and Paladin healers all need to work 2X harder to do the same thing.
I think this would help the other healing specs preform better in PVP because it could be tuned for each individual environment.
Meaning healer mana pools would be adjusted for the group size and so all healers would face the same issues in regard to mana consumption at any group size; however their self healing would be individually tuned so that they have the correct survivability.
Well at least that's the idea.
