Locking up and running in place...

I see a lot of threads about disconnects, but couldn't find one for the specific issue myself and 1 of my guildmates are having.

Randomly on random ToT encounters (perhaps more), the game will just... end.

We'd see everyone running in place, but we're free to move around (For no reason), and chat continues to work, both with us receiving and sending chat messages. Which is odd. Much like when the 'World Server' goes down. And it never actually crashes the game, so the only way to leave it, is to force the game to shut down. And gives no errors.

I thought it was an addon problem, and I disabled all my addons, and also turned all my video settings down to nothing. No dice. I also re-downloaded my graphics driver.

My guildmate did the following ontop of what I did:
- Deleted WTF
- Ran repair kit
- Completely uninstalled and reinstalled

I'm unsure what could be causing it. It only began since 5.3 launched.

We use seperate types of graphics cards, internet, and he's even on a Mac.

Had exactly the same problem tonight. I was the only one in the raid it happened to, but everyone else would freeze, I could move around freely. But could only leave the game by hard quitting it. I'm on a Mac too, never had any issues at all before that. I have graphics turned way down despite having a 2GB RAM video card AMD Radeon 6970M. My frame rate is perfect up to the point where other players freeze. Chat continues to work.

Tried turning off all major addons, to no avail.

Edit: Just to add a couple more details, these weren't entirely random disconnects. I would disconnect every single Lei Shen attempt (5-6 tries before we called the raid night). It was at slightly different points in the fight, but always within 1-2 minutes. I was fine for all normal mode bosses.

I've never ever had this behaviour before in 2 years of playing wow on the same set up. (comp, connection etc) and then it happens in 5-6 consecutive pulls of Lei Shen since patch 5.3.

Just happened in the new heroic blood in the snow scenario.

So something is going on.

Im jumping in on this, exact same thing happened to me and 3 others in a LFR ToT tonight, the only difference is about 20 seconds in, it would disconnect, and you could log back in. Happened at least a dozen times. No signs of the disconnect either, IE. lag spikes, or data loss in other apps during the gameplay. So i can talk in vent and use the chat in wow, but otherwise it seems like a full disconnect. More or less it sounds like the same issue that happened a few weeks ago where an ISP was interfering with the data packets. Please address this soon, thanks.

Exact same thing is happening to me and a few others in guild. We seem to disconnect in unison, 3 or 4 of us at once. Whats worse is this caused us to call progression night off due to severe connection issues.

There is definitely something wrong, as 4 people do not simply disconnect at once with no reason.

We've seen this kind of thing before with wireless connections. If you're wireless, try changing wireless modes. Otherwise, it can help to disable any offload options on your network card.

Our issue is that this never happened prior to 5.3, and seeing 3 people have the same type of disconnect at the exact same time on multiple occasions seems very weird.

I don't use a wireless connection, cannot speak for anyone else. But it only started happening Tuesday, when 5.3 was out. Never had it hit before then.

Yep same exact issue here, chat still acts fine and there are no blips in skype which would usually happen if i were dc/ing from game do to my internet. This is an issue with 5.3 it seems and the typical textbook "oh its your internet" really doesnt help for an answer blizz.

Bit annoying not being able to raid.

Our raid had/is having the same problem this week. About 4 people, always the same people, disconnect all at the same time. But not at the same point in the fight each pull.

They've tried disabling all addons, deleting the WTF, etc the usual suspects. All live in different areas of the country(ies) and use different ISPs and hardware. Nothing obvious.

It was only a problem on Jin'rokh, Ji-Kun and Lei Shen.

My guildy and I had it hit on Jinrohk, Maegara, and a few misc ones.

As well as random 3/5 mans.

Did you check your network card for offload options? What kind of network card are you using?

I'm not a technical savvy person, but I followed those instructions and my options don't list the 'Checksum Offload option' or anything I can tell is related to that.

As for the card, no clue, but here's what it is listed as under the Network adapters:

NVIDIA nForce 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet

I'm not the one who set-up my router, or even my own computer. So consider me a caveman when it comes to these things.

Ok, we can find out more about your computer with the Direct X Diagnostic Tool (dxdiag):

After you've created the dxdiag report file, open it up, and copy and paste everything, except after this section:
------------------
DirectShow Filters
------------------

After you paste everything into a post, highlight everything, and hit the "pre" button (It says "Code Blocks" when you hover your mouse over it). That'll make the information much more readable.

Just adding my two cents, me and 2 guildies are having this problem. Since 5.3 the three of us get disconnected / freeze (just as OP describes) during ToT raids for no apparent reason. Nothing fixes it. I'm wired not wireless.

Tonight, I tried deleting my Battle.net cache https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/deleting-battlenet-tools-folder-pc

We finally went 1 pull with no freezes, so perhaps that helped. Prior to that, all three of us got frozen 5 or 6 pulls in a row. It happened all through out last week as well.

Here is my stuff:

EDIT** I removed my info, because for the first time in 8 years someone tried to hack my bnet account.. I have no clue if it had something to do with posting my problem here, but it seems like an odd coincidence.
