Topic A Heartfelt Question
I have always been a warlock.
I picked up ret after being taught on the ptr by one of the best paladins I have ever encountered back in 5.1 Leveled this dude up, had sooo much fun, but eventually realized lock would always be my baby, so I went back.
Now, I am not a very materialistic person, I am more of a sentimental guy when it comes to this. The toon you played for years, have the best gear on, shiny gear, shiny rating, I cannot bring myself to leave it. I love ret so much, and I am on the verge of making the switch next patch.
I played warlock through cata as destro, and I have no problem with nerfs. But, my beloved spec has been turned to dirt. I will see how affliction is next season, and at the moment I'm roughly 6 games from 2300 as affliction. I couldn't get past 2200 as destruction but to my knowledge that is one of the highest (if not the highest?) destro rating of the season, I may be wrong ( as far as ruin... )
Has anyone done this before? Left behind their shiny , everything toon ? I will logon to cap and stuff of course. I guess.. I guess I'll just have to make my ret my shiny toon? Is that it ?
Please help me out with advice guys. Have 6k conquest on this dude and I know that if I spend it I'll get hooked.
I thank you in advance.
Roahin has been my main since I started the game. Through thick and thin- and with Retribution Paladins, there's been some pretty bleak days, he's obstinately remained my main. Don't get me wrong, I've leveled enough classes to 90 to cap the Achievement in that respect, but I always come home to Roahin (we have an understanding about those other classes.)
That said, my spouse recently had a... character Renaissance like you're going through. For the past six years she's been all about her Discipline Priest. The only role, PvP or PvE that she would do was healing. No alts, no nothing else. Then in 4.3 she gave Blood Death Knights a whirl. Since then she's leveled three of them to 90 just because she so enjoys the spec. Her current main Blood Death Knight has even toppled that Priest out of her main spot.
So I've seen people fall in love with a new class/spec to such a degree that their disappointing old one falls by the wayside. I never would personally, Ret owns me for life, but I could see how you'd go that way.
