BS is by far more flexible and preferred from a perks-standpoint, but JC/Ench are likely more profitable.

They all offer +320 str, so it's up to you.

The net benefit goes to JC and BS. It took a while for me to level them up (I bought ALL my Materials) but the payoff is worth it.

BS gives 640 haste so it wins. JC and enchanting are equal, but I'd say enchanting is better since it lets you make use of old gear.

Nope, JC and enchant are equal in terms of stats.

Enchant/BS. He're why.

Enchant lets you make your own chants, AND gets you blacksmith materials (Bloods, Spirits).

All of the passive benefits are pretty much the same, but the symbiotic benefits of having someone who can disenchant things you don't need, or no longer use is amazing when you account for the actual crafting requirement.

No, I can make two 480 gems for secondary stats - OR I can have two 320 primary stat gems. Can enchanting do that? (it could, I'm just not sure)

You're not getting 640 strength from the two Bold JC gems, though, since you're replacing (theoretically) existing Bold gems. When you knock off the 160 per existing Bold gem, the net gain is 320 - exactly that of Ench. The Quick JC gems are worse, though, since you only gain 160 haste per gem where twice the gain of strength is typically necessary to make haste-biased gemming better.

And to use the JC gems, you're sacrificing haste since we don't gem with a strength bias anymore, whereas Enchanting gives you two whole new mod slots to improve your stats; you're literally not losing anything for pure profit.

Huh? It seems like the net benefit is 320 STR no matter what - especially since dual stat gems are out there.

You can get 320 extra strength or 320 extra haste. Strength is going to win.

Only if you use Bold JC gems, though; if you use Quick JC gems, you only gain a relative 160 strength.

The choice is between 320 stength and 640 haste, not 320.

JC and BS.
two free slots.
480 haste gems available
320 strength gems available

No, it's not. Normal haste gem is 320, JC haste gem is 480. 480-320=160. 160*2=320. You get 320 more haste than if you used normal haste gems.

Free sockets from BS don't really have anything to do with JC since you shouldn't be putting red gems in prismatic sockets anyway.

No.

You should always be putting haste gems in prismatic sockets. The JC gems, being red, should go in red sockets if at all possible. Ideally, that means JC isn't better than any other passive +strength profession even when paired with BS (unless you simply have no red sockets).

No, it's not. Normal haste gem is 320, JC haste gem is 480. 480-320=160. 160*2=320. You get 320 more haste than if you used normal haste gems.

I'm just talking BS. With the sockets, that's 640 haste you didn't have otherwise. Or 960 with JC.
