Open Libram XCI: 5.4 In the Cards

Greetings and welcome to the 91st installment of the Open Libram! The perfectly grilled alternative to Mangle/Sentry Totem and Tank Lounge!

In these threads, we talk about everything Paladin. Some cool. Some lame. Some information dangerous. Got that question that you're kind of afraid to make a new thread about, or just tired of getting trolled on Trade Chat? Ask it here for a more personal response.

So Blood Elves, get your hair ready, Draenei and Tauren clean off your hooves. Dwarves, the nearest alcohol is to your left for your enjoyment and Humans... well do whatever it is you do that keeps you alive. Or stuff.

Enjoy! Have fun everyone!

Should be 91st.

Points for restoring the Libram art that the silly crustacean removed though.

I pulled from the last one to preserve the silly crustacean art. And was in a hurry transitioning from Scholo to Gate of the Setting Sun since Scholo CM knocked over so easy.

Not a day goes by that I don't feel bad for neglecting both of my level 90 Paladins while I tank on my Monk...

College progressing at a decent pace. The IT department head has taken a shine to me due to my overwhelming amount of in-class participation (he's teaching my current class [Environmental Science]).

All in all, cannot wait to start my IT concentration classes...

I keep hearing that Monk Tanking is funz but I haven't messed with mine much, still needs leveling. It's going to be WW/MW anyway as I think I have enough Tanks at this point.

From the last thread: I don't mean that hardmode people have to spend 50 hours a week raiding. What I meant was, if you aren't raiding hardmodes, you don't really need to be farming for every advantage.

In theory, even if you ARE doing hardmodes, you shouldn't need to be farming for every advantage, but that's also part of the game. Either you run everything you can every lockout, cap your dailies, cap Valor, cap Conquest, etc., or you just take longer to do things as your group gears more gradually.

If you're doing normals instead of hardmodes, you shouldn't need to go outside of normals at all except at the very beginning of the expansion.

.

Part of my animosity towards that, though, has to do with a lot of pests in General that constantly want LFR removed because, omg!, they decide they want to have and use every advantage, so they complain about anything extra they have to do outside of their NORMAL MADE raids as an excuse to have said things (namely LFR removed).

My general view on the issue is that you're inability to control yourself (having to do everything available) or desire to be the best for your team (admirable, but, again, if you're burning yourself out over it...) shouldn't be reason to remove content that other people enjoy. Particularly the other people that have that as their chief form of content.

So I realize I can tend to come on strong over this issue, but it's been constant for most of the time that I've played WoW. Generally, though, I think there are some people with a legit concern (like yourself) and then there are a lot that are just elitists that can't stand casuals walking around in purples even at this point in time (which is idiotic.)

What's funniest to me is, the hardmode raiders are usually the ones that step in and say what I said (if you're doing normals, you don't need all that gear, if you're doing hardmodes, you know what you signed up for.) So I've taken that to be my general view on the topic over time, I guess...

It's ok. I didn't fall asleep in LFR on my BRM like I did my prot paladin. So that is a improvement, yes?

Now at two hours on hJin; dodging balls is less the issue, more so not dropping things where they shouldn't be dropped. -_-

So I was bored and decided to try DOTA 2 because why not, it's free.

Well, it may just turn out to be a short-lived experiment, since their matchmaking is awful. I didn't think it was too much to ask to be paired with and against other people who don't know anything about the game, but apparently it is. So every game I've played so far has just had one or two guys on a team (usually the other one) that have played the game !@#$loads, know exactly what they're doing, and steamrolling everything. It isn't fun, and I'm not learning anything, either, despite accessing these matches through the "training" section.

Nope, games like DotA have a really high learning curve. It sucks for new people especially my friends whom i yell at constantly. Unfortunately ever since the beta ended the community to hell and one little mistake will be replied with "NOOB". I try to help a lot of newer people at pugs because after playing one or two games without any idea of what they're doing they'll simply uninstall the game.
