Sad part is I can't pinpoint what it is that is aggravating me. Venomous wounds over in assassination has become one of the most fun talents. Rupturing a guy at the last second before he dies so I can get 98 energy back to carry over to the next mob is awesome-sauce. I hate to admit it but the new backstab execute is actually awesome-sauce (no idea if it's a DPS increase or not). Find weakness is awesome sauce (no idea how to keep it up). Energetic Recovery is pretty good.
What's awesome-sauce in Combat? Restless Blades that's what! That is such a GREAT talent and pretty much one of the most unique we have. Alas it is brought down by a bunch of Debbie Downer talents. Bandit's Guile just sucks the fun right out of everything for me. I can't even figure out how long it takes for it to go away and come back. Do not like. Revealing strike, as we predicted, does not feel right at all. I barely notice an improvement even if it's there and it's annoying. It would have been better as a Programmed Random Occurrence like Riposte but off something more common than Parry.
It's sad too because out of all three trees, Combat actually has the most exciting optional talents. Longer duration Gouge, Deadly throw interrupt, root breaking sprint, silencing kick, non dispel-able physical snare and plate level armor. How do you compete with that in PVP? I know that's the tree I've chosen for it. It was easy too as I just dumped all the talents I found useless like Bandit's Guile. =D
So let me know what you guys think. Am I alone in thinking Combat is an awkward feeling DPS tree? Am I the only one that likes where the Sub rotation is going and thinks a few quirks need to be fleshed out to make it shine? (quirks being a lack of reliable ways to use Find Weakness, the tree's best talent)
