[Addon] Rogue: Subtlety

Hello,

I created an addon to assist with the rotation for Subtlety spec'd rogues. Although I've tested every version I've put out so far, I would like to get community feedback on things that can be added, removed or done better.

Great idea. I'm at work and I was only able to see the screen shot on curse.

I think if this included cool down timers somehow, it would be very useful.

Currently I use rogue power bars to track everything and I just know the priority.

You may want to include Hemo, because having it up is key for dps.

I've been using this addon for a week or so now, it works well. one thing that could be adjusted, is that in stealth it always suggests, ambush as opposed to garrote when targeting plate or caster classes.

Good addon, very helpful. Only issue I've noticed is that it will sometimes suggest Eviscerate when I have 1 or 2 CP's.

I've been using this addon for a week or so now, it works well. one thing that could be adjusted, is that in stealth it always suggests, ambush as opposed to garrote when targeting plate or caster classes.


It's really meant to be a PvE addon. There's no way to determine via the API whether a target is a plate or caster class. The only time it should suggest Garrote is when Hemorrhage is currently up on the target. Otherwise, it'll suggest Ambush.

Yes, that's exactly it. If the person currently has Serrated Blades talented, once it gets past a certain threshold, it'll start suggesting Eviscerate. From the time it suggests Eviscerate, you have about 5 seconds before Rupture expires. Since you get a 20% chance per combo point, it's better to take a chance on an Eviscerate if Rupture will expire.

I have another update that I plan on pushing out in the next day or two. You'll be able to set the threshold yourself. The interface has changed so much that I also need to put up new screenshots.

Edit to not be useless: I like this, I think it'll be alright for cata when haste affects energy regen. But as it stands, keeping rupture/SnD/Recup up is a !*@*ing hassle

Priority based system on Subtlety's main finishers. (Rupture, Recuperate, Slice and Dice, and Eviscerate)


priority should be rupture, SnD, Rec, Evis

On anecdotal testing, I'm actually finding using Rupture to be a dps loss at this point. This is my own personal take and I need to get that verified by others. This is post patch. I found the same to be true pre-4.0.3a as well and all of the records in which I made top 10 on World of Logs for Subtlety Rogue were w/o Rupture.

As for the addon, I didn't push it out this past weekend to work out some bugs. A new update will be pushed tonight. The option to disable Rupture will be in this version. The addon is meant to be customizable to adapt to set bonuses or anything else Blizzard throws out there.

Are you capping energy? You rupture at 4-5 combo points when rupture drops off. Optimally, while you are ready and waiting with another Rupture.

No. My uptime on Rupture is ~95%.

I made some updates to this addon after running some tests on the PTR.

Yes, the rotation is still complex but the damage has definitely gone up. From rough estimates (i.e. hours in front of a dummy with Recount), it's on par with Assassination and Combat.

The reason it is not on par with the other two is because of the complexity of the rotation and how critical the positioning is. The other two don't have to worry about positioning nearly as much and have simpler rotations.

Yes, I've made that same point on a post on the PTR forums. Damage wise, it's there. They (Blizzard) are well aware of the positional requirements and that it sucks. That was one of the things that got Mutilate changed from being behind only in TBC transition to WotLK. Pretty much 95% of the raiding Rogues then were Combat, myself included.

The damage is there, which is why I posted the logs. I guess what I'd like to see are the positions requirements for Backstab removed from Subtlety specced Rogues. I'm sure if the positional requirements are removed, we can live with the rotation (imo).
